This would have been a 4 star review had there been proper follow through. I am usually impressed with the experiences I have at most BJ's. I was truly impressed by the swift reply to my initial feedback. Despite this, a person named Jesse reached out to me after I was disappointed with a recent experience. He wanted to make things right by offering me a courtesy card. In order to do so I provided him with personal information -- my home address on 6/17/2014. It has been more than a month and have not received anything, which is upsetting because now BJ's has personal information of mine in which I trusted to disclose to them; which is my mistake because I wasn't aware of what they were going to do with that information (apparently not send me a courtesy card). So my advice is if BJ's asks for personal information don't, because it seems they have no process in place that ensures that they will deliver on what they promise (when it comes to customer feedback) and it's unclear as to whether or not that information is secure or used for other purposes.

BJ's is your standard chain brewpub with a large selection of craft beers and standard pizzas/sandwiches. The menu is enormous and it proved to be quite difficult to navigate the entire thing before our attentive waiter returned to get our order. For appetizers, the hot wings were nothing special, but still satisfying. I did enjoy the fried calamari; it had a great texture/taste and it was hard to put down. I also got a mini-deep dish pizza, which also was exactly what I would have expected. Overall, I will probably return if I have no where else to go, but there are plenty of options on Main Street and BJ's didn't offer anything that stands out in my mind.

Perfect place to catch the game with cheap craft beers.when an NFL game is on, it's happy hour pricing on food and drink specials in the bar area. The place is clean and has an upscale look, but has some of the cheapest prices on Mainstreet. All the servers here are fantastic, and this place has a good mix of locals, visitors and tourists, awesome times to be had conversing with everybody here. Sitting at the outside tables is surely a fantastic experience just people watching, either listening to music at Surf City Nights (Every Tuesday night) or soaking up some rays during the day! BJ's does kind of bust my rule though; don't go to a bar to eat, and don't go to a restaurant to drink. For me, the compact eatery/bar is just what I'm looking for when I go downtown HB. Not all the food is to my liking here, but I've weeded my way around the menu and have found great dishes to go with my house IPA. Good luck and see us here!!!

I give the staff 5 stars. They were great, super cool ambience and quick service for a weekend supper. Our server Jennifer P. was very attentive and friendly. One item we ordered was all sold out but they made up for it on the final check. Overall the food was good, typical of a Friday's or Chili's, but the main attraction for me is the variety of beverages. They have plenty of craft beer, wine, and cocktails to pick from. Good place, great people.

Have not been to a BJ's in a long time . Was in the mood for the wonderful pizza ordered a personnel pan 6"" deep dish came out cold and didn't taste good. To much in rush to return they got 2 stars for the service ! Lunch special included a side salad with small pizza!!

Beware out of staters. Our friend from out of town was visiting and they took his i.d. so the manager could verify its authenticity which was not terrible but still annoying. Every time I have gone the experiences have gotten progressively worse. It's crowded, slow, food orders forgotten. They neglected to bring plates for the pizza. There are plenty of other restaurants in Huntington Beach go to one of them instead. Unless you absolutely have to see a game and no where else is playing it.

Update. After discussing my situation with the manager, they gave me a gift card for another meal. I have to give them credit for that. So, I'm upgrading the service. Thanks BJ.

We've made it to Huntington Beach and we need to EAT!! There's tons of places all around... many of them are packed and noisy with football games! Decided on BJ's just because it didn't look too packed and there was still outside seating on the patio. We started with a beer and their signature Bloody Mary. I wans't to impressed with this. Maybe it was the Absolute Peppar or maybe it was the Bloody Mary mix. IDK. But I wasn't a fan. For starters we ordered the Ahi Poke and the Mini Bruschetta. And for our lunch we ordered the breakfast sandwich and the Fish tacos. Our starters came out before our main course and then about thirty seconds after the appetizers came out, our lunch came out. Bad timing on the kitchen's end but it happens. Anyway, the Ahi Poke needed... flavor. I DUMPED salt on it. It helped, but obviously it's BJ's so how good could the Ahi Poke REALLY be?! I also didn't care for the mini bruschetta either - the little bread it came on was too thick so it was hard to bite and then the toppings fell off. I guess the breakfast sandwich was fine - it's kind of difficult to mess THAT up... and my fish tacos were just aiight. Not too much flavor.. However I did REALLY like the salsa that came with and the avocado cream sauce! Nom nom! That was THE best part for me. Oh and then I did end up ordering a Watermelon Mojito that was SUPER delicious too!

This place sucks. Worst service ever.. Flies just everywhere. Our food came to our table cold. Just an overall horrible experience.

I am honestly shocked that this location has 3 stars because this is hands down the worst service I have ever experienced, and I am one to give the benifit of the doubt but I have been here a good 10 times not always by choice, and out of that I probably had DECENT service one time. I went there the other night and was seated on the patio, 15 minutes went by and no one even came and brought me a menu, so we just got up and left and went to RA sushi. Another time I went there with a friend and at the end of out meal that took forever, we ordered a pazooki hoping that would make up for the awful service.. The waiter brings it out after about 15 minutes of us ordering it and the ice cream is completely melted and like milk on the cookie and he waiter sets it in front of us and with a smug voice mutters 'oh sorry' and leaves it and walks away! Worst pazooki experience ever! I didn't even know that was possible but leave it up to bjs in hb to ruin your experience EVERYTIME! Any place is a better place then this place, stay away, I'm never going back.

Came for happy hour with a friend tonight and it was pretty nice. Decent service but the drinks seemed kinda weak, maybe new staff? Overall it was good since it wasn't too heavy of a crowd. Great location to walk around after a few drinks and have fun with friends

WORST fucking service I've ever had in my life. Girlfriend and I went here last night, it was somewhat busy but nothing that an experienced server shouldn't be able to handle. I'm pretty sure our waiter was on HEAVY drugs, guy was so slow, my girlfriend noticed him nodding off at the cash register. Dude was uninterested in making a good impression and acted like he was shackled to the ground to work there that night. I really hope the manager's look at these reviews because everyone around us was complaining about this guy up the wazoo. Not a good sign if we think your staff is on drugs, I think you should know about it before me. Food was excellent but damn you guys need to step it up. Your customer service is terrible. There was a table of kids next to us and they were even wondering what the guys problem was...... Future liability issue!!!

The food was great! Service was ok, but the manager was very nice

It is BJ's, it is right off the Beach, it is crowded and you know you are going to wait. But is as consistent as all the others. The service was pretty solid.

  • Lesia M.

Everything was absolutely perfect and delish, Laura was our server and she is by far the best waitress we have ever had! She was friendly and attentive. No detail went unnoticed.we ordered calimari which was tender and cooked to perfection ,BBQ wings were saucy, Santa Fe salad was loaded with fresh corn avacados, grilled chicken, tomatoes. Tavern style pizza tomato/ basil was crispy and tasty. The strawberry lemonade was perfectly balanced a little sweet, a little tart, refreshing and Laura kept the refills coming. There were plants of other options on the menu that looked enticing! U need to go here and bring the family

THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. I made a yelp account just to complain about this BJ's.... I had a group of 8 people and before we ordered we asked for the check to be separated 4 ways and the server said no we could only do 3... Very strange but we dealt with it. After separating it 3 ways, we gave our server back the check with our cards and he took it to the register. Shortly after he came back and said he needed us to do the math ourselves because he was to confused. After sitting there for 30 minutes calculating it I spoke to the manager & let her know the situation. Instead of actually having the server do his job to calculate it her response was "Well it is confusing and he is to busy to calculate it." Even though our server was just sitting at the register the full 30 minutes we were doing it ourselves and when we asked for water he completely ignored it!! horrible customer service. I will be calling BJ's headquarters to complain. DO NOT GO HERE

Always good food, but inefficient service. This establishment need to be more particular on who it hires to work with it's customer.

BJs is always a safe option if you want good food and drinks! Happy hour is even better! I came here after a long beach day and it was a bit empty around 5pm on a Tuesday. I came here many times before for their pizookies - yum, which are super gooey and great with the ice cream. Their deep dish pizza is a good option - minis are only $6 during happy hour! I got the barbecue chicken and the chicken bacon ranch pizza. The barbecue chicken in my opinion was the better of the two - it was coated with cooked tomatoes and had a great barbecue sauce underneath it. The chicken bacon ranch pizza seemed to be missing the ranch component and all I could taste was chicken with a bit of bacon.

I have been here a few tomes, and never have I had a bad experience... the bar tender Gina, that's G-I-N-A , is awesome! Has a great attitude towards every patron she serves! I watched another patron proceed to scream and yell and her, and she just kept her cool and let him leave peacefully. She is amazing with her customer service, don't believe what any other reviews say, treat any bar tender with respect, and they will take care of you, and never has that rang more true than with Gina!

  • Naty M.

Ok I really hate writing reviews but this one is just to funny to not share! So I sit down about 5 min later my waitress comes by and asks for a drink order now I must say my waitress was very accommodating to us in the beginning but it seemed as time went on it just became a downward spiral so I went to the restroom and when I came back they had already cleared outer table and sat a family, I come out confused and the hostess comes up to me and very rudely asks me can I help u? Yes I would like my appetizers that I didn't finish yet and my table lol ok so whatever I sit back down not to mention it's been about 45 min into the experience so now I'm sitting there after about 20 min I ask the waitress if our food is ready she's says she doesn't know and will check now keep in mind that I've already seen about 4 tables come and go and she was happily taking food out to there table so about 10 min later our food comes out my bread is rock hard and my daughters marinara is starting to turn dark red and the edges around the pasta is dried up clearly this has been sitting in the window for a very long time I ask the waitress about it ok so I resort to eating it in fear of being held hostage there for another 30 min to get my food so she tells me a pizookie is on the house wow thanks I totally wouldn't rather get a quality meal, so bacon was only on half of my whole sandwich so then right she asks me if I'm ready for dessert another 20 min yes 20 min then she's like I comped ur sandwich! She I guess was to busy to bring us our bill I literally handed the other waitress my card right away in fear I was about to spend another 30 min just for her to swipe my card All in all I really like eating here but it's like the last time I ordered shrimp tacos and they gave me one mahi one shrimp it's like get it together! One word of advice please do better next time I would much rather pay for my meal and enjoy myself then to have it comped and just be like oh it's ok we comped her meal quality and customers are everything!

I went to BJ's hoping for good food and friendly service after a long day at the beach with my friends. When we came in to ask for a table, the hostess treated us with a manner that made us feel disrespected. We felt because we looked young, she treated us with a rude manner, like we were going to dine and dash or something. Personally, I felt extremely disrespected and I was disappointed. The wait time to get a table was pretty reasonable, but after we sat down, the wait time for our food was OUTRAGEOUSLY UNREASONABLE. We got our appetizer (Spinach and Artichoke Dip) 20 minutes after we sat down and it took another 40 minutes to get our entree (4 slices of BBQ Chicken Pizza). We decided to order 3 mini pizookies when we finished our appetizer, because we knew it would take awhile to make, but 30 minutes after we finished our pizza, we FINALLY received our dessert after asking a couple different waiters/waitresses. What's the point of telling your waitress ahead of time if it's going to take the same amount of time or even longer? Also, our waitress didn't even bother to check up on us, while she checked on others and I felt like we were treated unfairly. In conclusion, we had a poor experience because we were belittled by both the hostess and the waitress.

Terrible terrible service with out waitress Michael he was rude to my transsexual friend so inappropriate sad that ppl are still that way. But then we were welcomed by an amazing josh that took care of everything he was amazing!

Great pizza, nice choice of appetizers, good lemonade, delicious pizookies but... Not so great of service sometimes.

  • Danielle D.

Service is questionable here. I get it's a busy location but come on I shouldn't have to beg for water or a drink. Manager was on top of it hence why he is the manager.., I'll be back if I can't find anywhere else i like the food just wish they had better customer service! They're knew peanut butter s'more pizookie is OMG good though. Beware ! Lol

  • Clemens K.

Had a burger, my colleage a steak. both are well done. The waitress was perfect engaged and super friendly and the food was delicious. Recommend this for all who like to seat outside, like HB (its not so silent, more noisy) and like it close to the beach.

We ordered delivery for the 1st time. It took an hour for the food to be delivered at 10pm finally. We only live 1/2 a mile down the street. The food was cold. They forgot part of our order. I have to say we won't be ordering delivery from here again.

Worst experience ever. Walked in around 10 pm Tuesday 10/28/14. Lady took about 15 minutes just to get our drinks. If I asked for any additional marinara sauce for my calamari, it would take her 10 minutes to to bring that. What makes it worse is that there were only 5 tables to be served. My kid needed a high chair and they couldn't provide until we were half way thru our food. She never once asked me if I wanted a refill nor my wife and kids. I don't even know why I left a tip. First time at a BJ and service was better at a McDonalds. What a shame. Chicken tortilla soup was good. Pizooki was good. Fries and potato wedges was good. Calamari was a bit off. Double deluxe burger tasted like salt was smothered all over smh. Raspberry mixed drink was great. Overall if the service was great I would give it at least 3 1/2 stars but that didn't happen.

NO No no ...never again. Didn't Hurricanes use to be here? You know things are going downhill for a town when a chain restaurant takes over a hot spot.

I came here on a Saturday night when everything else was packed. I got a flight of tasters - 5 ounce pours of 4 beers: blonde (my favorite because it was refreshing), Jeremiah Red, Piranha, and pale ale. The restaurant was empty with a few people having beers and dinner. This location is much smaller than the location on Edinger.

    (2)
  • Joe I.

As far as BJ's is concerned, this location serves pretty much the same fare as the rest of its bretheren. My friends and I like to come down here during the week to grab a beer and people watch. The night I went I enjoyed a tasty Cookies & Cream Pizookie. Tony was our server and he was on top of everything. The food came quickly and the patio is a nice place to sit when it is warm out.

    (4)
  • Curtis M.

Ordered a 10 slice pizza as they advertised on their menu and received an 8 slice pizza.

    (3)
  • Sushil P.

Worst Service Ever. Most disorganized, disoriented restaurant. The wait is always 30-40 minutes, but its never first come first serve, they randomly call and seat anybody with no systematic approach. Even the sitting is way too disoriented and if you do manage to get past all this and finally place an order. It will take forever your food to arrive. Stay away. Even If they were giving meals for free, I would still avoid this place !

    (1)
  • Toddy S.

This was the perfect place to grab a drink with an old friend. The staff all welcome us and offered us a table, we opted for the bar where we were again greeted my the friendly bar staff who had great recommendations and had us try some great bjs brew. We didn't even know but it was happy hour! (Always a great surprise) I also had the California club flatbread, I would come back for that alone, definitely work the $4.

NO STARS IF APPLICABLE. Honestly i don't know what i was thinking going here on 2 occasions. first time i went with my 2 buddies during the week and were the only customers there. the servers weren't even around to sit us down. our server was flirting with another employee. when they did sit us down they walked away and didn't even start us of with drinks. when they did. IT TOOK FOREVER TO GET THE DRINKS! took them along time to check up on us and get our order. we ordered the pizza that took forever and when it came to the table not only was it cold but it was infested with flies. it was disgusting we wanted to speak with the manager but even him was being incompetent and didn't do anything for us. WORST SERVICE EVER! SECOND TIME. i don't know WHY IN THE WORLD I WOULD COMEBACK. but really wanted a drink with my girlfriend. we asked to sit at the bar and got a drink. it took them 10 min to talk to us and get our request and another 15 min to make the drink. NEVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE and we are spreading the word to everyone we know to NOT COME AND SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! THIS BJS RESTAURANT HAS GOT TO THE WORST DINE IN PLACE IVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE. and I've gone to crappy restaurants. BUT THIS PLACE TAKES THE WIN!.

Having bday dinner celebration for a friend's husband and the experience is really amazing. Our waiter, Tony was really outstanding. He deserves a 10 rating :) the food was real good. We had the "party for 2" and let me tell you: it was delicious soup, pizza and pazookie for only $19.95 :). Thank you for the nice dinner :)

Tuesday night and we waited for 45 min. we went to check on our status and the host told us our name wasn't on the list. We ended up having to seat ourselves on the high top tables where we then Waited for 12 min. to even get spoken to. Service was horrible needless to say. Good food though!

  • Sylvia C.

Service is horrible!! Wasn't even that busy we got sat right when we walked in took 20 mins to get a server then when we got our food 30 mins later! We asked the girl for more refills on our waters an asked for napkins an she rolls her eyes an says she will get our server to do it!! What the F!!!! She Such horrible attitudes shitty service. Never coming back ill take my business elsewhere

  • Jeff T.

Although we made a reservation for 6 on a Wednesday night, it took about 45 minutes to be seated. The service was pretty good, which means our beverages were refreshed several times over the course of our meal. I ordered the bison burger and it was above average. The salad that came on the plate with my burger, however, was atrocious. It looked like that crappy salad mix you might buy at Walmart.

  • Esther L.

Great late night happy hour specials. Came here with one of my girlfriends to have some wine & munchies. Forgot what Chardonnay we got, but it tasted good & was 50% off :). For munchies we got mini deep dish pizza (good), Southwest egg rolls (loved these! Banging flavor, perfect amount of crisp & loved the sauces that accompanied them), and chicken lettuce wraps (just ok). All the food was half off too. The bill came out to be $40 with 4 glasses of wine & the food. Whatta deal! The service was amazing as well!

  • Mike K.

Service can be a bit slow but they can get some serious traffic from all the people walking up and down main st. Ultimately Bj's is a Bj's to me. It's a franchised chain, they have strict standards and this place met them in every way.

  • Bryan M.

I had a trip yesterday to the beach. My girlfriend and I BJs around our home in Menifee CA but this location in Huntington was HORRIBLE! Our server was nice but damn was she forgetful. We had no silverware or napkins during our meal. Luckily my girlfriend had napkins in her purse. We finally finished our food and while I was getting up mup gf told me that her order came with a salad. We reminded the server and 20 minutes later we got the salad! Spinach and dressing doesn't take that long. I didn't even get an apology or a discount or anything. Such a bad BJs. Never in my life will I recommend this place.

    (1)
  • Kim G.

pretty good BJs in Huntington beach area. Same food as all the other chains around. nothing really special about this place. Parking is a little tricky though, so best bet, park at structure if your coming here.

  • Monkean M.

We went to BJ's for lunch while vacationing in the area. My wife had a veggie burger, I had a spicy burger and my daughter had the gluten free pizza. We dined outside on a brisk day. The service was good and they understood the need to be careful when preparing a gluten free meal. Overall solid effort on the food. Nice atmosphere on a beautiful day. Would come back again.

It's a very nice place nearby Hungtington Beach. We sit outsise and look the nice street view. The strawberry lemonade hasreal strawberry, I like that. The breakfast open 8am to 1pm on Saturday and Sundy.

  • Armila D.

This is probably the worst BJ's that I've ever been to. I came here on a Saturday afternoon around 4 pm. The place was only moderately crowded so there should not have been any excuses for the slow and terrible service that my party received. While our waiter was quick to take our order, he forgot to get us silverware. During our meal, I asked for hot sauce and had to remind him twice for it. When our pizzookie sampler platter came, he didn't bother clearing our table. He also didn't refill our waters until I asked him to and I had to flag him down for our check after already patiently waiting for 10 minutes for him to realize that we were done eating. I will never come back to this BJ's again.

  • Genevieve P.

Normally I really love BJs. We went on a Friday night, not too busy. Got seated fairly quickly. After being seated, sat there for 20 minutes. No acknowledgement, didn't ask for drink order, nothing. So we walked out.

  • Morgan B.

After a morning workout at Huntington Beach, stopped by Main Street for my breakfast options. To my surprise, BJ's was open for breakfast. Enjoyed a great breakfast, had the french toast and bacon. Bacon was nice and crispy, the french toast was fluffy and the syrup was great. Service was great and staff was very friendly. Can't wait to come back!

  • Essam D.

I was her on the Main street I smell very nice cook so I decided to go eating some pizza when I order a pizza it's come very fast and it was very delicious me and my friend was happy to eat it I want to say to everybody there is a place on Main Street is very good on pizza

  • Ryder M.

This place is a joke... Waited forever to get a table 35 minutes longer then the rude hostess told us... Then it took 20 min to get someone to take our orders... Then after 35 min we get our order... Wrong and not even a sorry... They looked mad at us because we should have just been happy we got something. At this point we said that we are done. Paid for our drinks and walked out.

    (1)
  • Bill B.

It's playoffs. Everyone in the bar is here for the football fame. Zero sound. You can't hear the game. The crowd. The calls. Nothing. We asked (along with many others) three times to turn volume on - and the final response is that there is a law (a BJs law) against sound. It's apparently a "restaurant and not a sports bar". Then take the TVs down because you are misrepresenting yourself! Too late to move to another bar now and find a seat....or we would leave!

I came here with a friend for her birthday it was just the two of us and we called ahead of time to make a reservation that way when we came in we would be seated right away, as we were walking a group of six walked in right behind us and they were seated before us when they had no reservations, we were seated after 10 minutes of waiting on literally nothing, there was no one else waiting for a table and there were plenty open. We finally get seated and get our menus and my friend and I were ready to order within 2 minutes of getting the menu and being seated but our waiter was no where in sight after waiting for 10 minutes i finally flagged down a waiter in another section and had him order our drinks and food. Shortly after ordering our waiter comes and slams our drinks on the table and doesn't say a single word to us. My friend and I were talking about how rude she was and the table next to us heard and started talking to us about how she was so rude to them to and she was being rude and ignored them as well. we then get our food and as we were eating they kept bringing us more drinks but no one was taking the empty glasses it got to a point where i started stacking about 6 glass cups on the ground. after our horrible service meal and not even talking to our server, we tipped the guy that we flagged down to take our order. i then went home and ended up throwing up my entire meal because the meat wasn't cooked properly, i called the next day to tell the manager what happened and she told me to come in and completely refunded my entire meal and informed me that the server will no longer be a part of the team. i was going to write the most horrible review and then i talked to the manager and she completely changed my mind after the shitty service here so thank you for not ruining my experience i will def come back.

First and foremost, the food was fantastic. Maybe it was the 50 minute wait or maybe it was the half a bottle of wine I drank, but everything came out as ordered and delicious. I had the Lemon Thyme Chicken minus the brown rice and sauce. The chicken breast was surprisingly juicy and the veggies were better than your standard veggie side. Brussels sprouts, red onion, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, etc. Two others in the group had steaks and someone had a burger, everyone was very pleased. BUT, the service is slow, slow, slow. Literally, it was 50 minutes from the time we were seated before the food came. Ridiculous.

  • Kristie W.

The bad: food took way too long to come out in a not very full restaurant. Over 35 min for a salad and a mini pizza was way too long. The good: the food when it did come out was great. My daughter had a mini cheese pizza which is hard to mess up. But I had the seared ahi salad. I've had it at other BJ's and the ahi has been cooked all the way thru. Here it was perfect! Seared and delicious!

We got there and got seated immediately. Me and five of my girlfriends sat out on the patio and enjoyed the view! God bless the person who invented the Pizookie! Great service and great food. Ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and a pitcher of the cider beer and was amazed and tipsy by the end. A+++ on service, location, experience and taste.

Came here for a small lunch. This is an extremely busy place but that is to be expected since it is on Main St. in Huntington Beach. We sat at the bar since outside and inside had a 10 minute wait. We order the Pepperoni extreme flatbread appetizer pizza and the fresh mozzarella and tomato salad. The wait to get these items was at a least 20 minutes. Once we got them, they were both very good and appetizing. The waiter,John D., was very good and attentive.

Good happy hour specials. They had quite a few TV's and did a good job showing a variety of sports/games. Their beers were tasty. They tasted more 'commercialized' than other small breweries, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Their lighter beers were crisp and clean, and I would go back next time I visit Huntington Beach.

Although I am a frequent visitor to BJ's in the Inland Empire, I was extremely disappointed with the service we received at the Huntington Beach location. I was with a party of five and after of waiting nearly an hour for our food the waiter brought out three of the orders and proceeded to tell me that they just found out they were out of dough for the flatbread pizzas. The manager offered to comp our two dinners. This may seem nice however the rest of the party was completely done with their food before we received ours. The waitress brought the bill only to see that we were charged for all five meals. I had to remind her of what the manager said so she proceeded to bring the bill back with the two meals removed. As far as I am concerned they should have comped the entire bill since my 3 other family members had to sit and wait for us to finish our meal. Never saw the manager again. Very disappointing service.

Stopped here after going on a bike ride all the way from Santa Ana. We were dying for some carbs in our system. This is by the pier so it tends to be packed. We decided to go with the avocado egg roll appetizer. These are always good especially since we were hungry. As far as dinner, I wanted to try something other than the pizza. Decided to go for the scampi shrimp pasta. I was surprised by the amount of pasta they gave me. Huge portion. The pasta was alright but was lacking some kind of sauce. It tasted kind of dry. The shrimp tasted pretty fresh though. Our server kind of took forever to get our order too. And that is why I'm giving them 3 stars. Service could have been a little better.

Spent over 100$ for 2.. but we ate and we ate ate ate.. We enjoyed every last moment of it, great service, great food, and a great person? What else can someone ask for?

I would have given this place 5 stars cause the bar last was awesome and beers are great.....but....when I flagged the buss boy down for a water...he asked me..."Yeah...what do you want?" Seriously....he needs to be taught some manners or be fired.

Text that table was ready, then sent back outside... We were seated later. The service was terrible. Our order was split, half the table was served and then the other two came a few minutes later. The food was mediocre at best. I would not recommend it, especially for its high price.

I've gone to this BJ's for years. They've certainly remodeled it to look like all the other BJ's. You CANNOT beat their lunch specials. Such a great value. Super delish cheap small plates. I know all you haters hate chains but this one is really legit. I wish they would make it out here to Chicago!!!! I would give my left arm for access to a BJ's California Burger on a regular basis. Well not MY left arm, possibly somebody else's left arm would be better. BJ's pizza's are great but I would stay away from the wheat crust. Come on... Seriously... You're eating pizza.. If you get the wheat crust you will say to yourself... "I should have got the regular crust." Don't be that guy..

Worst service ever. Our waitress was clearly high. We ordered a drink and she never asked if we wanted another one. When we ordered our food she didn't ask how we wanted our burgers, what side we wanted. When my daughter tried to order on the sheet they give kids she just stared at her. We got an appetizer to share and Noone ever brought us plates, then fifteen minutes later when I asked for one she looked like she didn't understand me. Another waitress came while I was eating my dry burger and asked if we wanted desert and I told her not yet, we're still eating. Noone cleared the appetizer plate while we ate. The waitress never came back to the table and while we still had half a plate of food someone just came and dropped off our check, meanwhile I'm trying to order another drink for a half hour. Boone asked if we wanted a box. Just pretty much left us high and dry. I'll never come here again.

I have been going to the Bjs on Main St for a long time. There food is delicious. The pizza was what drew me there, inexpensive and excellent, the cheese and tomato is still my favorite. Since they expanded the menu there are so many more excellent items, my favorite is the pot roast sandwich. Oh, did I mention the beer? Hands down, my favorite beer on the planet is the Jeremiah Red! The service there is always great, they must pay better or make better tips because they are always friendly, happy and helpful. Don't forget a pizzookie if you still have room! The only reason I wrote this review was to comment on the breakfast though. The breakfast is not good and the only reason I knocked it down a star. I am saddened by the poor attempt at bfast. My wife and I went on a Saturday. The menu is limited, especially for the health conscious. The food we received was fresh, but undercooked and bland. I'll say it again, the service I received was excellent in spite of the poor food. That being said, thank you bus for many years of excellent food, beer and service!

I agree with Robert Q. about hating chain restaurants, but I feel Bj's ins't as franchised as TGIFs, Chillis, etc. More of a regional chain. So when we found ourselves late, hungry, wondering down Main St., in HB, they were the only ones open where I knew we could get a good meal at a solid price. I've never written a review for BJ's before, but I really liked this one a lot -- been to the Burbank and Glendale ones, which seem too busy and loud. The service was good, the pumpkin ale seasonal brew was a great recommendation by our server. Wasn't too hungry and I love that they have a small bites section where you can basically order tapas style. I got a side of mac and cheese with bacon--pretty good. But the best thing were these new chicken/cream cheese wontons... Wow! Only three of them, but they are very rich, so it was the right portion unless you were going to share. My lady got a solid angel hair pasta and they didn't charge us to substitute for alfredo sauce. Love this little Cali chain. The pizzas which my friend had never seem to disappoint,

Waited over fifteen minutes for a server to come by and take drink orders. The food was ok. Ordered the tomatoes and mozzarella, meatballs, Mac and cheese and stuffed mushrooms. Mac and cheese was bland, stuffed mushrooms were ok. Meatballs were flavorful but the best was the mozzarella and tomatoes.

happy hour in the bar this week was terrible, I just wanted a mini pizza and a salad. And of course a nice cold beer! Pizza came out lukewarm, the salad was the end of the lettuce and the beer wasnt cold! The server tried her best but they were terribly understaffed and she was left to figure out everything on her own. Management needs to actually visit the customers on the floor and they would realize that the crowd was slowly loosing faith in them. WIth SO many options on main street in HB they need to recognize that they are not any better then the rest and need to improve before their business goes across the street.

So Angry! I will qualify this with a terrible week at work, and a tasty Octoberfest from bjs. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! Being the Duke of the huntington beach location illustrates how often I come here. I do live 2 blocks away. That said, I will be relinquishing my crown. Here are my reasons, which will all involve food since I've always overlooked the hit and miss servers. 1. They changed the freaking pizza! No longer is it deep dish, but just hand tossed. They got rid of the deep dish tins... This is the biggest WTF moment. This is the reason people come here and makes this place unique. What was management thinking? The servers told me HB was the last holdout for the deepdish tins. If that's the case, I'm sorry to all the other locations as well. 2. Wheat crust on the veggie pizza is no more. (I'm sure I'm the only one that cares.) 3. They got rid of the oatmeal raisin pizookie!? So a big FU to the minds at Bj's. Again, I relinquish the crown. Too many other good pizza joints in hb, and bjs just gave up their signature pizza, the "California deep dish" in favor of handtossed. If you're looking for a handtossed pizza in HB, take a look at pizza lounge or Luggattis or papp joes. Cheaper and better. Bj's deep is no more, and therefor is dead to me.

It's a little before 7PM on a Wednesday night. The bar is full and they won't sit me on the patio to wait for friends before a Yelp event because I don't have a reservation. There are 8 open tables on the front patio and people keep funneling into the restaurant but no one else is being seated on said patio area. BJ's...you suck! Or atleast your hellhound gatekeeper does. I'm sure those teenagers in beachwear shivering with wet towels around them is what pays your bills... NOT. Add this to the list of the reasons why I hate HB. I'm never treated like this at their Irvine location. Never.

This is the smallest BJ's I have ever seen! Azya C. and I stopped by here to pre-party before the Yelp Elite Event at 2nd Floor, and we grabbed a pear cider (of course) and a couple of appetizers. She got the potstickers, which she found to be a little gummy and undercooked. I got the Mac N Cheese small plate, which was made with rotini (yay!) but in a really soupy sauce (boo!). The taste was there, but the preparation and the presentation are both somewhat lacking. Still, it's a good place to grab a pint before heading to a better spot.

I live in Downtown HB, last week we made the news again when and oil rig partially collapsed knocking power out for hours. So i went to BJ's to watch the Monday night football game as well as the Dodger playoff game. I got center seat at the bar and it was great. The staff there is awesome i applaud them for their service however the price for Stella Artois was $6.50 for a regular size glass, wow that is crazy when I can buy a 3 pack of Bud light 24 oz cans for less than that. I really felt that was too expensive my experience service was is what get the 4 stars and the ambiance as far as the TV's and games but wow if you want your wallet to take a beating go to the bar otherwise beware of the beer prices they'll getcha

Man where do I start with this place? The food? It's BJ's, what do you expect? The Staff? Unfriendly, unwelcoming, and undeserving of minimum wage. The management? Incompetent. Overall? Be glad I gave you one star, and against my will, at that. I called in an order one night, it was specifically 3 large pizookies. Not that difficult right? After telling me on the phone it would be ready in about 20 minutes, I ambled on down from the beach bonfire that I was at to go pick up the pizookies. Now mind you, this beach bonfire was for my friend's birthday, and we all forgot to buy a cake so we decided to get some pizookies as an alternative. After reaching BJ's, I walk up to the hostess bar and tell them my situation and they look through some receipts(?) looking for my order. They just kind of stammer and say it will be a couple more minutes. Uh, ok, sure, I came about 10 minutes later than you advised to avoid exactly this, but it's not a problem. So I'm standing there against the wall watching T.V. because I left my phone back at the beach, thinking it would only take 10 minutes, MAX. 20 minutes go by and nothing. I go up to the hostess bar and ask how much longer it would take and they give me a vague response full of excuses, "The kitchen is busy," "The pizookies are being baked fresh," "It's coming right out." Ok, I'll wait a little longer. I waited about 25 minutes, plus the added 25 minutes they told me it would take over the phone, it can't take that much longer right? WRONG. To make a long story short, I waited a little over 2 hours for my order to come out. By that time I was visibly steaming. Turns out they forgot my order, put in an order, gave my order to the wrong customers (what, is it that difficult to verify a NAME on an order?) and after all that decided to have me just wait there instead of doing anything about it. Now I understand mistakes are a part of human nature, and I'm willing to forgive them for my time wasted. But the thing that really set me off was the way they all tried to play it off like it wasn't a big deal and that I was blowing it out of proportion. Management came out and explained all the errors that happened with my order and asked if I would pay with a Visa or mastercard. Wow. Take your business elsewhere, this chain restaurant is the model of everything that's wrong with chain restaurants.

My girlfriends and I came here for my friend's birthday after a trip to the beach expecting to have a great dinner like we usually do at the bjs by our house, but the experience was not comparable. The hot tea was lukewarm, the table was dirty, and the pulled pork sandwich was not up to par. The coleslaw was dry and chopped too big. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious and the pizza was good. The shrimp tacos were atrocious. The guacamole tasted like green sour cream and the tortilla tasted like plain flat bread. The busboy Jordan was awful he left numerous empty plates and cups on our table after walking by and passing us 4 times. Instead of cleaning our table he went and talked to the homeless man that stands right next to the patio cussing, yelling, and making inappropriate balloon figures. It made us very uncomfortable. Our waitress, Karen was fabulous, picking up all the slack of the bus boy and managing to bring us everything we asked for in a prompt manner despite being very busy. P.s. Please bring back the red velvet pizookie, the salted caramel leaves much to be desired.

As much as I HATE huge chain restaurants for their quality of food and creativity in menus, BJs always proves me wrong. I love this location first off. Always try to sit outside and you can people watch HBs best and worse while having lunch. Their house brewed beers are awesome and at $3 they are a steal. Soup and salad is bottomless and is pretty decent, tho salty. They made me and off the menu fried fish sandwich, which i thought was not only very accommodating of them, also quite good. Most of their menu is good, I'd say just go for it! RUMPELSTILTSKIN!!

Came in at 10:30 for brunch since the Sugar Shack was crowded and my dad was too hungry to wait. We were the only ones in the whole restaurant. The hostess seemed annoyed that we wanted a regular table instead of a booth or a high table. The food was delicious. We each had the California Scramble. I also tried their new brew, the Nit Wit. It was alright. Had an herbal/orange aftertaste that I could have done without. Sort of reminded me of smoking weed, to be quite honest. In all, I'd go back if I didn't want to wait for a table at Sugar Shack again.

Love love love the root beer!! Its perfect and not all ofthe BJ's serve it. I remember this place before they remodeled/expanded it. Night and day difference. It gets crowded and noisy but, IT'S A SPORTS BAR IN DOWNTOWN HB, WHAT DO U EXPECT?? Seating can take a bit of time in the summer, but I've never ha to wait more than 20min with a group of 4-6 of us so of youre in a bigger hurry than that, you probably should get out of downtown HB to get some food. ;) It's not perfect, but the food is great, the waiters are all friendly and helpful, and the newer item menus are excellent healthy options.

We went here for lunch today and sat outside on the patio to eat. I ordered the Ceasar salad. The food came out pretty fast, and considering all the people there it was quite impressive. Our waitress was very nice and made sure everything was good to go. The salad was really good, I added the blackened chick to it and the portion of the salad is just the right size, not over fed at all which a lot of places have been doing this lately. If you sign up for their rewards card you get a free cookie with some ice cream on top as a reward for signing up with them. It's a points related rewards account that you can ask them to give you a physical card, or you can go to their website and sign up as you're waiting for your food is what we did. After the lunch we got the free desert which tasted great. The cookie was Oreo, and it was topped with ice cream and a cookie flavored whipped topping which tasted great! Eating here, and enjoying the nice weather while people watching and having a great conversation with my girlfriend was a perfect little lunch date for us. She ordered a pizza which she then took some home with us for her to much on later. She loved the pizza, and has eaten here before but since I am new to the area I haven't, but glad I did. Try this place out, gorgeous area to eat a nice lunch or dinner in. They also had a brunch menu that you can choose some other food choices that aren't on the regular menu, it's just for Sunday Brunch. The menu looked pretty good but I didn't decide to get anything off the brunch menu this time. The bill for both us came to around 36 dollars, which isn't too bad at all for the food we ate.

I was sitting at the bar... I was told per the manager to keep my voice down at 10:30 pm on Saturday night, I had used the word "Bitches" to my friends a few times. really... Others have used the word as well. Yet I was told to keep it down???? Was it because I was not caucasian?? I am better off going some elsewhere... Too many other restaurants to put up with that.... Too bad, the bartenders was cool... Get rid of the manager and maybe we will go back!!!

Wow....What an experience, this place left me as confused as the staff was. Let me explain, we had 3 servers come over and say they would be taking care of us. Not like its an issue, the other two must have fell in a hole... it happens :P It was Friday night we were out with our friends (another couple) and we weren't your typical eyeful of Affliction, short skirts, heels, and swaying from side to side. We work downtown and were shocked none of us had ever eaten here. Came in the hostess was confused and said let her get the booth in front of us clean and its yours. She then said we couldn't take the table without a reservation....then changed her mind again after saying she recognized us. I was already confused. Fast forward, past the first two servers....the third (poor guy) is new, and they were out of flat-bread, Pinot Noir (one in particular) and the seared ahi. Lucky for him he is at a table of servers and bartenders, we easily chose around it and ordered a feast of small bites: Stuffed mushrooms- 3/5 good but not served very hot yelp.com/biz_photos/fNu5… Cheese sticks- 3/5 standard, and again not very hot yelp.com/biz_photos/fNu5… Ahi poke- 4/5 they brought this by mistake but hey we didn't know and wow was it good yelp.com/biz_photos/fNu5… Caprese - 5/5 this was really a great salad, whatever they marinate their mozzarella balls in is amazing. Also a very nice presentation. yelp.com/biz_photos/fNu5… Mini-Bruschetta- 4/5 good presentation, tasty, and pesto is always good. yelp.com/biz_photos/fNu5… French dip- I didn't have it but my friend said it was good, he gave it a 4/5 Triple Chocolate Pizookie- OH GOD YES!!!! 5/5 This will make anyone happy :) Well that was my experience, I would love to come here again for some small bites but never again on a Friday night, all their confusion almost gave me a headache.

I enjoyed visiting this location a couple of times this week. I was on a business trip - staying at the nearby Hilton Waterfront Beach resort. I visited on Sunday and Monday night to watch football! They also had the world series on both nights, but I was wanting to watch the football game. It was very busy on Sunday, but the food was great, service was good too. I enjoyed the roast beef dip sandwich (4*) one night and the following night I had chicken strips (4*) - the chicken was great, but the mashed potatoes were cold. Their Desserts are awesome! I had the BJ's Baked Beignet one night and the next night I tried Apple Berry Burst Crumble. Both were 5* The only problem is the ice cream melts too fast because both dishes are served hot, but they were sure delish! I like the big screen TVs and the comfort food and consistent service. If you are looking for a good place to watch the game and eat, go to BJs! It's the best choice on Main Street in my opinion.

First time in Huntington Beach ,we decided to have lunch at bjs when we arrived there was a short wait to be seated ,our waiter comes and asks us what we would like to drink we both said sprite ,he got distracted and says ok so 2 cokes coming I then corrected him when it was time to order I ordered a burger with no onions no tomatoe with a side of ranch he did not repeat the order when our food arrives there onions tomatoes and no side of ranch , I did not say anything about it ,then we asked for ketchup he said sure comes out twice with no ketchup then the 3rd time he looks at us and aid oh yea the ketchup by that time we were almost finished ,he really just had an I don't care attitude the whole time after all that we felt as if he was rushing us out asked if we wanted boxes have us the bill and came back four times for it bad experience

I live just a few blocks away and my past experiences here have been good, but last Sunday (Mother's Day) I went with a few family members and had a ridiculous experience. Waitress was fantastic- great personality and very accommodating. We ordered a pizza and asked for bacon on 3/4 since my daughter is vegetarian- and the two guys wanted extra sauce. The waitress said she would request triple sauce. The pizza came, had bacon everywhere and not one spot of sauce that we could see with the naked eye. She brought the manager over and he said he'd have a new one made. Since we were really hungry, the others of us said that if he would just bring some sauce we could continue to munch on that one until the new pizza came. He came back about 10 minutes later with a tiny ramekin of sauce. Then when the second pizza came, the waitress took the remainder of the first pizza to box for us to take home (it was actually a very good pizza) and we started on the new one. This time, barely any sauce and some pieces of bacon on my daughter's portion. Not a big deal- we just wanted to eat and get out of there. Then the waitress came back- said the manager took the other pizza from her and "got rid of it". We ended up being there a very long time- no offer of a comp drink, dessert or any type of compensation for the bungled pizza. Very disappointing. Plenty of other good choices in downtown HB.

We came on last Saturday with a large group. Big thank you to the manager and our server! We had reservations for 14 , but that grew to maybe 20. They quickly accommodated us, kept our glasses full and the food came quickly. I had the California chicken sandwich and it was real tasty with fresh avocado. I have two trips to HB in December and will be back for a beer , only bummer, they were out of their IPA.

We went at 5pm on a Tuesday night, when it was mostly empty, and not knowing it was happy hour. I loved my Brewhouse Blonde on Tap for happy hour price. My husband had an IPA as a guest beer for a $1off. The California Club flatbread was full size at happy hour price for only $6 and was sooo good wiith chicken, bacon, tomato and a drizzle of ranch dressing. We shared a fresh beet, arugula and goat cheese salad for about $5. I'd take my girlfriends there just for that salad. We added an avocado spring roll with four pieces, that I thought was better than Cheesecake Factory's. We also enjoyed a J Lohr Cabernet that was on sale as was my yummy Mojito lite. The atmosphere was calmer and classier than I expected, which was a lovely surprise. It usually seems more like a rowdy bar, but if you go early you can enjoy a lovely atmosphere, with attentive employees, and above average happy hour fare. Our bartender was Susan and she was attentive, pretty and friendly. Her bar back with the gorgeous slight pompadour and sideburns could not have been nicer.

The good: They take reservations for groups (I think more than 6?), which is really nice on crowded days. It's also just a couple of blocks from the pier, which I loved. And it's BJ's so the food is good! The Not so good: While I loved the location, that was about it. They do validate parking, but the parking is pretty bad since it is by the beach. Also, the service was...interesting. I had a fly in my drink and thought it was very noticeable but it was brushed off as not being a big deal. I then ordered a cheese pizza. However, the waiter thought I said 5 meat. So, the serve brought out the pizza and I said it wasn't mine. He then went to the back and brought it out and said it was mine and brought the waiter out to tell me it was mine. I told him what I ordered and he said that item didn't exist (I saw it on there and have gotten it at other BJs in the past). After telling him I saw it on the menu, he left a little frustrated and carless and came back to tell me it would be out soon. When it did come out it wasn't good very well. It is also very, very loud so you can't hear what someone is saying unless they are next to you. I give it 2 stars because I was with a medium sized party and people make mistakes. Also the rest of my part liked their food and didn't have any problems. I just don't like being told I'm wrong multiple times when I say I saw something on the menu. Although the problems were quietly brushed over, my meal was comped. I laughed it off and it was fine, but I will probably choose a different BJs in the future unless I am near the beach.

The server was awesome, the food was delicious and my pizookie was the best. I love the Oatmeal cookie one, it's just enough sweetness. The other ones are a bit too sweet for my liking. Probably one of my favorite BJ's I've ever been to. Even during the US Open, the service is still fantastic. That says something! Under pressure, they're diamonds.

So it was my first time here and I was definitely not impressed whatsoever. Some of the workers were just standing around laughing and doing nothing productive. My friends and I ordered and it took the longest time for the waiter to bring out our food. We only ordered a medium pizza.. We asked for water with lemon, and they forgot to bring out our lemon.. It's not that hard to cut some lemon up and bring it to your customers. Afterwards, we ordered 3 mini pizookies and that still took quite a long time, and our ice cream was all melted.. So what I thought was..,'it doesn't take ice cream to melt that fast when it's being walked over and the cookie is just a little warm.. right? Or am I wrong? THEN, I accidentally dropped my spoon, asked this random waitress to get me another one POLITELY, and this girl NEVER came back with a new spoon.. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO EAT MY DESSERT? UGH. Anyway, my overall experience here sucked, but the only exception for this place for deserving a single star is the pizookie, since the delicious cookie was baked to perfection. TIP FOR THE WAITER: If you wanted a better tip, then maybe you should be WAITING on your customers, that's why you're a WAITer, right?

Awesome place to chill and hang out with friends. It can be overcrowded, resulting in slow service, but always good food and friendly service. If you're going to go during any kind of rush time or with a big group, try to call for a reservation; it totally helps!

My girlfriend found out that I had never had BJ's before and was shocked - so shocked that she had to introduce me to it right there and then. And you know, I was amazed. It was brilliant. Maybe it was because I am English that I had not had BJ's before, but it was an experience I will never forget. In fact, I made my girlfriend promise it to me at least once a day. While I was in there, I felt very comfortable, but toward the end I became so excited that my girlfriend had to take me out. So for all of you that have not had BJ's before, you have got to try it, it is incredible.

We ordered the Avocado Egg Roll appetizer, and it came quick and was really good. As for the rest of the food, service was pretty slow, taking over 45 minutes to get our deep dish pizza. It was warm, not hot, and the crust was rubbery as if it had been sitting for a little while, not crispy like if it had been served right away. You have to really be on the wait staff to remind them.

It may be confuisng that I give high star ratings and bad reviews, but I know that these places are hit or miss and this is usually a hit! When I take my "starving" kids to a restaurant I always grab an appetizer out of the gate- app and drinks came quick, but then our order either got lost or somebody was learning to cook and time orders, because they sucked at both. My dad and I both order rare burgers-this should be easy and we ordered a half pepperoni half cheese and our waiter took the time to ask if wanted the tomatoes on top which is how it comes- he knew our kids would probably not like it- good call. after about halfan hour - i asked him "whats up with our food" and he knew there was a problem and said "yeah I'll go check" who knows what happened, but they brought us dry over cooked burgers(maybe they had been sitting for 28 minutes) and a room temperature pizza- with tomatoes...it was a shame, because BJ's happy hour is awesome- but my last two eating visits have been F visits- my last visit at the Laguna Hills location had a hair in my cobb salad. They comp the food, but all I want is a good order, because waiving the 14 or 15 bucks doesn't make it a great experience.

Went there with a friend today after hearing about their lunch specials was greeted by a nice host who was wearing a cast though I didn't catch his name he was very nice. Our server came several minutes afterwards and we wanted to order right away. My friend asked for her usual and the server said she couldn't get that at lunchtime so she had to change her order to a flatbread with salad and I got a personal pizza with soup. I received my soup about 20 minutes before my friend got her food and never got refills horrible service!!!! When the food runner came with my soup I asked him to check on her salad an he explained it came with her meal even though she preferred it before our food like I did with my soup. When we finally got our food after waiting for 25 minutes after I got my soup which is ridiculous with how slow the restaurant was my bacon pizza had barely any bacon on it, so the nice food runner got me more bacon without my asking. We asked his name because he was the only one in the whole resteraunt who took care of us and it was Hugo. Hugo then refilled our drinks while the waitress was out of sight. She never checked back and then finally dropped off our check. I never got her name because bjs employees don't wear name tags, but I wish I would have. The manager asked the other table how they were doing, but never asked with us, which was also disappointing.

So this past Saturday I had my 25th birthday here at this BJ's. I called 2 weeks in advance to make the reservations, I figured that would be more than enough time. I made the reservation at 8pm for 25-30 people. Some of my party arrived at 7:30 so they went to the front desk and let them know so the hostess gave them the buzzer for when the table will be ready. I arrived at 8pm and went to the front desk to check the status on our tables, the hostess said maybe another 5-20 minutes. I thought OK that's not too bad. Here comes 8:30 and now my guests are all standing outside waiting to go. I went back to the hostess and she said "you can go back there they are just cleaning the tables" ok so you want us to stand there while they clean the tables? Awesome! The manager did come up to me and say she is sorry for the late sitting but they had a party there before mine. Which was fine, but then more and more of my guests arrived and come to find out the room I had reserved only fit 25 people max. So now I had about 4 of my guest just standing around and ended up leaving. I had also let my party know to make sure they get there parking ticket validated so they wont have to pay. When we left BJ's we went to the car and got up to the pay booth and the gentleman said it was $13.00!!!!! Turns out BJ's only takes off $!!. So now that we have spent over $350.00 at BJ's now I have to pay $13.00 for parking oh and there's a $2.50 charge for using your card. GREAT!!!!! Overall I wasn't too happy with my birthday.

Long wait for beer/food, seems understaffed. Food was ok, IPA not so much. If you want better service there are better places on Main.

Mmm, BJ's.......this will be a different review for me. Usually the amount of stars someone receives is directly related to the service or quality I receive. Never have I rated a restaurant so highly that didn't properly cook my dish. Read on. So, I ate at a BJ's once. Probably about 6 or 7 years ago. I don't recall it standing out much. But I was walking from my house to downtown HB the other night to eat....we didn't have any particular restaurant in mind....just kinda aimlessly wandering....till something presented itself. Well, I've walked by the BJ's a million times....never wanted to try it....had kind of a "been there, done that" attitude about it. And my girlfriend says, "Lets try BJ's"......... Hmmmmm Ok, lets go in. We were pretty much seated immediately even though it was pretty crowded as per the usual. Waiter came over.....very friendly....ordered a garlic bread hamburger and a dinner salad with Blu Cheese. The girlfriend ordered a Calzone. The salad arrived and I immediately noticed the blu cheese tasted funny...maybe a little too sweet.......not normal blu cheese at all. My girlfriend agreed. But it was edible. The waiter was very attentive, stopping by several times to make sure everything was ok......when he asked about the salad, I told him it tasted a little funny. Not BAD.....just not that good. He immediately offered to make another.....but I told him no.........it was necessary.....it wasn't THAT big of a deal. Then he offered to take it off the bill.............but again.....since we'd eaten most of it I told him that no....that's not what I was looking for .......but thanks for the offer. The entree's arrived and we dug in. Everything was good.....but something wasn't "right'........Hmmmm then it hit me.....my burger wasn't hot. It was just barely warm.....as were the fries. Hmmmm, then my girlfriend commented her calzone was good....but not hot either. I tried a bit.....and yep....just warm. Oh well....took another bite....then she commented....."Cazone is like pizza, it's supposed to be too hot to eat the first couple minutes..." She was right.....it's supposed to release steam when you cut it open....what the heck? this was warm like....ordered it to go.....drove over picked it up..brought it home and took it out of the box 30 minutes after it came out of the oven warm. So here comes our happy, helpful, cheery waiter..... "Hows everything?" So while my girlfriend didn't want to be a bother......I simply asked, "my burgers not hot.....can you nuke it for a minute for me?" He immediately asked if I wanted him to have a new burger made....."No, I just want it warmed up." It was a delish burger....just not hot..... So he took my plate and my girlfriend continued on with her calzone. He stopped by a moment later and said he asked the manager to stop by........Uh oh.....now I'm in trouble. So the manager stops by, "I hear your burger wasn't cooked properly?" "No, it was fine.....just not hot....I asked him to warm it up. And my girlfriends calzone wasn't hot either" "Well, I'm having the kitchen cook you a new hamburger" " I apologize for it not being hot.....and I'll take the calzone off the bill" "We want to make SURE you are completely satisfied with your food and service here" Whoa I just wanted it nuked. But then I thought about it.....wow, WHEN was the last time I had a manager come over like that? I know when a server asks "How is everything?" They don't REALLY care.....they're just being (usually) polite. But I still somehow think.....that when I mention (and NOT asking for replacement or anything) that the hollandaise is too lemony or the eggs should be runny or the blu cheese isn't right.....that maybe they'll go back and tell the cook......."hey, someone mentioned this and you should check it out....." that maybe it's constructive criticism and just might be helpful. Now I know that may not be true most of the time....but as a business owner I'D want to know....so.... The burger comes back......nice and hot.....it really is a very good burger....everything's good (cept I'm eating by myself, the girlfriend having already finished) The waiter comes and drops off the bill......and not only did the manager take off the calzone but he took off the burger as well. Wow! So he essentially took what would have been a really disappointing meal and turned it totally around and made up for it and then some. If it had been "business as usual" like EVERY other time you have a disappointment during a meal.....I likely would have never walked in a BJ's again. But now as a result of the extraordinary attention the manager paid to my experience there.....I'm looking forward to going back. Other restaurants take notice......see how that works?

Loud and stuffy. They need ceiling fans to move the air when it is warm. The density of this bar far exceeds the ability of the wait staff to adequately keep the customers well attended.

I don't get all the bad reviews. Every time I've been here, never had to wait really for a table. Service is friendly and I love their deep dish pizzas! In fact, there happy hour deals aren't so bad. $1 off beers/ cocktails, $2 off their appetizer menu and half off on their mini pizzas. Gotta try the BBQ chicken!!! Parking wise, it can be a bit difficult. If it's a block to two away, most likely it's metered parking and if you don't mind walking... around 6 ave and further, parking are meter free! Hope this helps.

Man, this pizza is good. I haven't really seen it like this anywhere else. I eat the crust like it's nobody's business. And, well...I hardly ever eat pizza crust. The pizookie is awesome, too! My long-term ex and I went here on Valentine's Day and they gave us 2 free pizookies and coupons with little hearts on them. Unfortunately, he's my ex for a reason and I never got to go back after my 2nd visit because I had no reason to visit the area anymore. Too bad they don't have one near me now, otherwise I'd be much, much fatter (wait...that's a good thing).

I love Bjs, and eat there regularly, but this particular location I WON'T be returning to. Me and my bf and a few of our friends went to Main St to catch up and eat so we decided on BJs. First of all we asked if the happy hour was the whole restaurant or the bar. The hostess said bar AREA, which usually the tables around the bar in that specific area are included. So we sat in a booth right by the bar. Our waitress came to get our order and we put in a few drinks, when she came back we asked again what the happy hour specials were, she said they were bar only, and we asked what tables then we could sit in, she pointed to the tall tables litereally 2 feet away from us. We offered to switch but she said it was okay she would acknowledge the happy hour for us, just that the first round of drinks would be normal priced but from then on would be happy hour prices. We were fine with that. So we ordered the mini pizzas which she CLEARLY gave us the happy hour price on when we ordered and asked, and a few more drinks. The check came with everything FULL price so of course we brought it to her attention, she said she never said such a thing or said she would actually do it, just that we were not in the tables for happy hour. WTF?! yeah we made it up, she clearly told us what she told us and kept denying it saying she didnt tell us that. so we got a manager. All he could do was give us 10% off the check because the order was already in the system and could not acknowledge the happy hour because she already put it in. pffffftttt, we were beyond pissed off especially since we were being told we pretty much made up the story by a stupid waitress. horrible customer service and not even a free pazookie to make up for it!! so much for the customers always right..

Terrible service, we had three different servers and no one is communicating with each other on the orders. Food is decent, once it arrives. Sit at the bar for improved service.

BJ's Brewery Where do I start...it is so very hard to come up with a review about a place named BJ's without making a slip of the tongue...you know, gagging on the grammar. I need to get my head into this review, or I'm going to blow it! I guess I'll just have to take a stab at it and see what the reading public can swallow! The Beautiful Carin and I dropped by the Hawaiian wedding Yelp event at Don the Beachcomber's last night, dropped off our donation and tried to make a little small talk with people (new to Yelp in this part of the world). I was the oldest person in the room by about 20 years...not too many people interested in chit-chatting with the new/old guy...oh well. We headed back down the road and came across the little farmers market and street fair in Huntington Beach (Official Motto - "The Portland, Oregon of Southern California"). We decided to stop by, since we didn't stay for the dinner at the Yelp event...and I am so glad we did! Main Street in HB is fun little spot for a bite and people watching...esp. during this little saturnalia! I have never before seen this many people congregated in one spot...both buying healthy, organic and locally sourced fresh food...and chain smoking cigarettes! What a delightful, yet haunting contrast. We dropped by the aforementioned BJ's (Official Motto - "No, we didn't know what that meant when we named it") and had bowl of soup and a chili-burger...it took us 90 minutes to have this little repast. The service was (how shall I put this)...uneven. We were seated and we waited...and waited...and then...we waited. Finally, our waiter showed up with the explanation that some people called in sick (probably smoking related) and they were short handed...but he was nice and the place was nice enough, so we thought we were in no hurry. That turned out to be a good attitude to bring! While the food was OK, everyone was nice and just as sorry for the delays as could be, etc...that turned out to be the theme...forgotten utensils, forgotten drink orders, incorrect food orders and apologies. "Oop's" and an apology...doesn't that pretty much sum up BJ's? They did offer us a free cookie to make up for the troubles, and it was OK...white chocolate macadamia nut cookie...all warm, white, thick, gooey and sticky. What...you didn't think I was going to let this little review end without another shot at a double entendre, did you? Two stars for this sloppy BJ.

Deep dish pizza is my kryponite, making me weak and tired after I eat it. Bj's Pizza the way I want it, how I want it. Bj's never disappoints me, especially if they do my pizza right and get me my crushed red pepper, ranch and honey mustard in time. Four stars everytime!

everywhere was closed early christmas eve so we decided to drop in here their hours for christmas eve stated that they close at 11 and we showed up at 10. They were really nice to seat us and did not rush us. We ordered calamari to start off with and shared a pizza between all three of us girls. one of my girlfriends also ordered a mixed drink and it turned out to be super super strong. the calamari was a little over cooked but still good. the bbq chicken pizza was very good. although we didnt leave til 11:45, the staff was really nice. overall, i had an awesome time chatting it up comfortably here. The food was all good and the service was excellent. the waiter also helped us take some photos since we dont see each other often. good times at bjs...

Everybody love BJ's! Alright get your mind out of the gutter, I'm talking about pizza of course ;) Order a beer and get down on some heavy carbs. Deep dish pizzas are cooked well most of the time. The salads, although a bit pricey are delicious. Get one with your pizza so you don't feel like a total fat ass for eating pizza only. If you're on your second pitcher, well I guess you're not here on a health binge. Service is friendly and the downtown HB location adds plenty of ambiance to the whole laid-back beach goer experience. Recommended date location, I mean a walk on the pier, watching the sunset, then downing a pizookie after dinner? That's romance baby!

We went here as a group of seven for dessert and ordered a gigantic pizookie with ice cream. It was hot and delicious. For just $20 for dessert for 7 people I'd say it was a pretty good bargain! One thing to note is this place is extremely loud. We were there after 10pm on a Thursday night and it was pretty crowded and very loud. You have to yell very loudly just to be heard by the person sitting next to you. Beware that you might have a scratchy throat by the end of the night... I'm only rating this place 3-stars because the staff all seemed to have attitude from the bus boy to the server - no one seemed very happy that we were there and that we were crowded around a table at the bar. We really were no trouble. We just ate our pizookie and left quickly. Thanks for the yummy dessert but no thanks for the attitude!

The food was decent but the service was terrible. It took us literally 40 minutes for us to get our food after we ordered...and another 20 after we asked for our check. Our server wasn't even friendly and didn't apologize once for his poor speed of service. Overall we spent over two hours sitting in BJs just to eat mediocre food. I wouldn't come here again.

This past weekend, I was in HB getting my hair done by the LOVELY Thao at One Stop. My appointment was at the crack of dawn, and I figured since I was in the area I might as well visit main street and meet up with some of my friends who live in HB. We decided we wanted to get breakfast/brunch on main street. We were shocked how packed it was at 10:00 am, so we decided we'd try BJ's weekend brunch. I had seen signs and I was curious. It wasn't the nicest day in HB. There was overcast and it wasn't very warm out yet. The place was empty, and there was this group of people standing in the front waiting, the waiters/hosts seemed really confused and unorganized. Two different ones came in to sit us, and it seemed really out of order. I decided we should sit inside because it was chilly and even though the host tried to entice us by saying there was "heated patio" I shook my head and we went inside. The guy who gave us the menus neglected to give us the breakfast menus, so at first we thought maybe they didn't serve breakfast or something. Another employee came over and we asked for the breakfast menu. It wasn't a huge variety, I'd say maybe under 10 menu options. I was pretty hungry at this point, so mostly everything looked somewhat interesting. I decided to get the steel cut oats and a side of eggs. I didn't care to be TOO adventurous, I just wanted to eat. My friend ordered an Italian sausage omelet. We both ordered coffees and water. After we ordered, my friend immediately noticed that the waiter didn't ask us what kind of toast we wanted, or what kind of meat we wanted. We hoped this wouldn't determine the rest of our experience there. It was SO cold in the restaurant, my coffee wasn't staying warm for longer than a few moments. Our food was brought out and it looked good, but sure enough, the toast was white our sourdough and BOTH of us wanted wheat. The person who brought out our food wasn't' the same person who took our order, so I asked him if I could have wheat toast instead. I could feel huge gusts of cold air, and it bothered me because I knew my food would get cold quickly. The oats were mediocre. They came with milk, brown sugar, and some mixed dried fruit. They weren't piping hot and with the AC on and windows opened, they had NO chance. The waiter didn't ask us if we wanted hot sauce or ketchup and the food was SO bland, it was necessary. By the time I got to my eggs they were cold, hard and rubbery. I was VERY disappointed. We actually had to flag down a guy because our waiter was no where to be found to ask for hot sauce and ketchup. At this point, I already felt very disappointed. Our waiter didn't come by to check on us, coffee was cold and food was cold and less than exciting. It was right before we called it quits when our waiter finally came over to ask if everything was okay. At that point, there really was no saving of our meals. I'm officially not a fan of BJ's. MAYBE I'll come by for the pizookie but my last two experiences have been less than satisfactory. It was TOO cold, the service was BAD and the food was unremarkable. I would DEFINITELY say to pass BJ's if you're looking for breakfast in HB.

Great Time We had a bad time at another restaurant across the street from here and it was just horrible. Luckily Bjs was very helpful we had a group of 20 peeps and then were able to accommodate us in 15 mins. I was happy because the place was full and they were able to make room for us. The employees were very kind to get a section in the back so all our group to be together. Our waiter Charlie was very polite and nice, we were a very big and loud group celebrating my wife to be 21st birthday. The food was good our friends had a great time and we just had blast service was good. Also charlie was very helpful with get us a special gift for the birthday girl and was very timely about it ;). We will definitely be back and have another wild and fun time with our friends.

Great location, good food, fast and friendly service and great prices - what more can you ask for?? On a sunny day, sit on the patio and do a little people watching. Just don't ogle though, because that is just plain creepy. The BBQ chicken salad is super delish! Everyone who is not afraid of greens should definitely give it a try.

Every time the 2 for $20 pizza deal comes around, my boyfriend and I eat there like 5 times in a row lol. BJ's pizza is so delicious, the crust is moist and crunchy at the same time, oh man not much compares to this (as far as non-New York Pizza goes). The service at this spot can be very iffy, they are packed on most nights so the wait is a little longer.

First off, my family had quite a large party for my cousin's birthday so we called a few days before and made sure they had us down for 4pm - 13 guests. Well low and behold... we get to the hostess and she tells us there is no such reservation and is sure we made it for the wrong BJ's. Well good uncle that he was, recited the manager's name as well as the address and that stuck it to her. After that small debacle, we were seated about 10 minutes later in what looked to be a very shiestily put together set of 3 tables in the back room. These chairs even after they were scooted in were about 5 inches away from the adjacent tables with people sitting at them. Not comfy at all. Well our families asked for separate checks and the waitress didn't mind splitting up the already ordered drinks so props to her. All in all the food was pretty good... pulled pork sandwich, spinach and artichoke dip, buffalo wings (With ranch sans blue cheese), and buffalo chicken pizzas for our half of the family. The food came relatively quick considering a party of 13 people and all the food coming out at once, so thanks again there. We then proceeded to order dessert, delicious pazookies (one large platter for the larger half of the family and a small cookies n' creme for my sister and I to share). That was great as well... And.. the reason they lost a second star was due to the 15-20 minute wait after getting the bill to take our cards to be processed. We had immediately put them in, when we received the check, so I'm not sure why the hostess who by the way was right next to us at the computer half the time didn't see... oh well. All in all a decent experiencing minus the initial trouble... we don't appreciate being called liars by the girl up front. I'd rather go to the other Huntington Beach BJ's with way more room, and also quieter atmosphere with better service (Beach Blvd / Edinger)

I really like BJ's, but this restaurant at this specific location really sucks. They were not welcoming or friendly. The hostess seated my group, but we didn't even know who our waiter was until 20 minutes later. The servers were not even busy, and they took so long giving my table water/food/check. I would understand if the place was packed and busy, but it wasn't. Go to any other Bj's Restaurant except here..

I have lived in Hunting Beach for 25 years. I have gotten sick EVERY time I have eaten here. I have a "weak" stomach but usually one other member in our family or group gets sick as well. Maybe they've gotten better I obviously don't eat here any longer - under any circumstances.

came here for dinner since slaters 50/50 burger had a huge wait. haven't been to a BJ's restaurant in a really long time so i took some time viewing their menu. everything was pretty much the same as i remember. friends ordered two large pizzas. great white and some hawaiian one. i ordered their chili cheese baked potato ($8.95) and their chicken tortilla soup ($5.95) my other friend ordered the chicken marsala pasta and another ordered the nachos. first, their baked potato is overpriced. if i actually looked at how much it cost i probably wouldn't have ordered it. as for the chicken tortilla soup, it was pretty good but towards the end it got pretty salty. i didn't try the other stuff, but they all said it was good. i don't ever crave to eat here, but when i'm here i enjoy the food.

Probably more of a 3.5 star rating. I don't care for their pizza and their cajun shrimp pasta used to be great. Their chili bowl though is excellent. Bread it comes in is nearly the best I've had. Another great choice are their hamburgers. Who would have thought since a pizza joint. Then, top off with a pizookie.

I was downtown for an EMT recertification course at the Huntington Beach Lifeguard Headquarters for the weekend. I opted for the Calzone. It was awesome. It was served hot with marina sauce over the top. Very excellent. Should of had a beer since their sodas are flat and weird tasting. Even had a great apple cinnamon desert in honor of Octoberfest. It also was excellent. The biggest hit in the rating is how slow they are. Just a meal for one and one of the first customers in the door, one and a half hours to eat. I had to go to the bar for my own drink refills and had to ask them to rush running my card since I was now running late for getting back to class. But. Hey. It's down on the beach. You aren't supposed to be in a hurry. As I was leaving I saw many people standing with their check in hand looking for their waitress. Maybe they understaffed a. Bit?

Newly renovated - this BJ's is super clean and has a huge new TV, new booths and tables, and a new bar. BJ's went from a cool local bar with one of my favorite red beers of all time (jeremiah red), to a typical chain restaurant without a lot of flavor a few years ago. This new location is in the heart of downtown hb, and if you are watching a game, seriously consider grabbing a seat in the bar here. Pints are $4.95. I always find the food to pretty much suck - and now that they list the calories for every item in the back of the menu, it REALLY makes me not want to eat their food. 1892 calories in a salad? Ah! Props for expanding their outdoor seating and for having attentive staff.

This is by far my favorite restaurant I've ever been to. Waiters are always checking in on you, refills are free, and the portions are big. The menu has a wide variety of appetizers, entrees, and deserts. Always look forward to eating here!

We've been here several times and the service at this particular location has been TERRIBLE every time. Drinks and food take forever to get delivered. It seems like they're chronically understaffed, and the waitstaff makes excuses instead of apologizing. Knowing this, tonight we decided to try and circumvent this problem by simply phoning in an order. This time took the cake. After being on hold for seven minutes, we had my mom call in to see if she could talk to someone. The host picked up, and told her that she would have to wait on hold. My mom asked how many people were on hold ahead of her. The host said nobody was. Are you kidding? This location does not deserve your business. These problems seem to be specific to this location -- I've been to others and have never had terrible service like this. But we'll never return to this location and strongly encourage others who don't want to put up with such terrible service to do the same.

As chain restaurants go, BJ's does a great job! They offer a wide variety of foods in addition to their extensive lineup of pizzas. They remodeled this particular location making it much more attractive and trendy. They have a LOT of sports on the TVs to keep everyone occupied (if so desired). Many of their menu items are non-standard in that they have customized typical dishes to have more flavor and character. My favorite entree is the Moroccan Spiced Salmon served with Sauteed Vegetable CousCous covered with a tasty, mildly spicy, Roasted Red Pepper Sauce. Of course, all of their Pizzas are excellent. Even my old standby, the Classic Combo (Pepperoni, Sausage, and Mushroom), is extremely satisfying. Their full bar has everything you can imagine and they have several unique beers on tap as well. Service is always friendly and efficient. My only complaint is the noise level. When the restaurant is full it is hard to carry on a conversation with your dinner mates as it is just too loud. Other than needing earplugs, or trying to go when it is less crowded, BJ's is a big hit for me!

Not my first choice... ever, but I wouldn't say "absolutely not" if someone requested we go there for dinner. they have a full bar and a good beer selection, but you should go there for the pizza--the great white is my favorite, but I hear every kind is great! Theire appetizers are meh, and the pastas are pretty good--the jumbalaya is tasteless but the fettucini alfredo tastes really good. This one is great if you sit out on the patio because you can people watch, and if you're from around HB you know that people watching on Main St is a favorite pasttime for locals.

Changed the happy hour with no notice to the customer. Mini pizza cost 12 bucks and well drinks cost over $6 - with Pepsi instead of coke. Last ten visits my order would have cost $20 but cost $31 today. Won't be back anytime soon without seeing the happy hour menu in advance.

No matter which one you visit, BJ's offers great service and great food. Their signature brews (my favorite is the Harvest Hef) and pizzas are staple menu items. My personal favorite is the Roast Beef Dip, and you can't leave without a Pizookie. All locations are generally packed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, so plan accordingly. No reservations unless you're throwing a big party.

Ok the food is good. And they have some pretty amazing off-menu martinis(ask a bartender). But why is it that every time I go into this location all of the waitstaff seem so impatient. If it takes me longer than 30 seconds to order after sitting down, it's like i've committed a crime. Every time. Is it because it's downtown, because none of the other locations ever make me feel so rushed.

I used to dislike BJ's from going to other locations, but they have won me over lately. I've been into this one three times in the past couple of months. The happy hour deals are killer. Half-off mini pizzas! Savings on beers, too. I feel as though they've expanded the menu selection quite a bit compared to several years ago when I couldn't find anything but a sandwich I'd like to eat. I could be wrong, but I don't recall so much good food here. I don't care for BJ's brews, but now I can get Stone IPA on tap at this joint? Whoohoo! Great eats I've had recently - the mini pizza, flatbread appetizer pizza, bruschetta, my wife loved the stuffed mushrooms, the pot stickers were tasty, too. The mac & cheese was alright. Nothing to write home about. Cheap enough, though. I'm not a fan of the bacon in it. The best thing I've recently found here is the jambalaya. Holy cow!! SO GOOD. My wife and I shared a plate of that and got two small appetizers to go with it. We both left full and happy, and loved every bit of it. My wife even had leftovers from her appetizer. BJ's, you have made me into a believer. I'll be back soon, and I'll probably get the jambalaya again!

You've gotta work hard to get 1 star, and these clowns really put in the consistent extra effort. First, yes the service is that bad. Be it the incompetence, disinterest, or attitude it's all too true. Don't expect the "management" or should i say mismanagement to help any either. Tried this place on a few occasions and ok, places get swamped and things can fall off once in a while but this is a trend here, not an exception. Read around the reviews and the pattern is clear. The owners are lucky that there's a constant flow of tourists and visitors to the area to keep this joke going. I don't know about you but if I read about the sort of crap that so many have remarked about here on yelp and other review sites, I'd close shop for a week and exterminate the vermin responsible for ruining what should be a solid business model. Gotta give props to the beer selection and a few of their bartenders- they realize they need to work for a living at least. The food is, let's face it, chain fare which is only average at the best of times but you can't knock it for being what it is if you knew about that in the first place. ON the other hand you can hit up a drive thru Pizza Hut, save a lot of $$$ and aggravation and be just as grease bloated later. Again, food isn't the real problem here per se. Why do this to yourself or your so called friends when there are all kinds of superior alternatives to this planned community chain strip mall abortion of a restaurant located in a prime main st location? It needs to be torn down and buried in Irvine somewhere and something useful put in its place. There are dozens of great alternatives on and off main st - Cafe Alessa or Lugatti's on 5th (reopened recently thank god!) are both solid bets with none of the bullshit attitude staff and mediocre food. Trust me on this one, you won't be disappointed! Or you most likely will be if you don't... Invest your time and money better elsewhere.

The food wasn't bad, but has bad service. The waitress was inpatient and unfriendly. When we didn't understanding all the items for a dish, we asked the waitress and she just simply point back to the menu and asked us to read it again. We have been to other BJ's and their services were much better.

I went to BJ's this weekend and they were just off. The waitress complained about the bartender being new and said that he didn't know what he was doing (which he didn't). It was a Saturday night, so I was confused as to why they would schedule someone who wasn't skilled enough to meet the demands of a Saturday night. The waitress was kinda weird. She was bringing us wet plates and took our appetizer plate prematurely and complained more than once about the bartender. She even told us what drinks he might make good. Even though the service was a bit off it wasn't enough to ruin our experience. The waitress was pretty nice and the food was delicious. I think management dropped the ball by scheduling someone who was clearly not ready.

Not impressed. Those are the words that come to mind when I think about the dinner I ordered here last weekend. I met up with a friend. I put my name on the list at the HB Beer Company across the street but there was a UFC fight going on, so the wait was going to be an hour-and-a-half. Soooo, we thought we'd eat somewhere else and then come back later to the HBBC for a few steins. We walked over to BJ's and were seated within 5 minutes, which was nice. The waiter was pleasant and took care of us quick. But, I ended up being bummed with the place, and here's why: My friend and I were each going to order a salad, but the server told us that the Garden Medley salad, which my friend was ordering, would serve two people no problem, so we ordered that to split. The waiter brings the salad, which looked uninspired - I mean it was a mound of chopped romaine and a few diced tomatoes - and it was definitely not a salad that would easily feed two people. It didn't taste as bland as it looked; in fact, I'd even go so far as to say it was "okay," but the server was mistaken in saying it would be enough for two. It suddenly occurred to me that I was eating at a chain restaurant. I ordered the Angel Hair Toscana, a simple dish with a menu description that made it sound appetizing and relatively healthy to eat. Problem was, the pasta itself tasted like it had been boiled in water that had been re-used 50 times that day. It just had an off-putting taste. To the manager's credit, she took the pasta dish off the bill and she was nice about it, but I won't be going back. We ended up driving to Long Beach for dinner.

Had an awesome experience here last weekend. The service was great, the food was wonderful and the manager came over and chatted with us for a bit to make sure everything was good. Great times, would highly recommend!

They remodeled! I thought I was at a different BJs from the last time I ate there. Service was good even after happy hour. Food is ok, I'm not into deep dish pizzas, so we tried the new flatbread pizza. It was ok. Their mini bruchetta was pretty good though. And the server was cute, only reason it got one more star, or else it would have been a 3.

After checking out the booths of organic produce, surf photography and Himalayan wool beanies at the Farmer's Market on Main Street in HB my girlfriend and I were hungry. I told her any place she liked was fine with me, and we ended up wandering into this BJ's and had a pretty good experience. The first thing I noticed walking in was how nice the place looked. It's a scaled down version of the larger Bj's you're used to, kind of a blend of an upscale pub and the franchise. The bar area has lots of high-tops, lots of screens for sports and nice long bar for bellying up to and ordering your favorite poison. The second thing I noticed was how loud the place was. Am I getting old or does anyone else cringe at the thought of having to shout your dinner conversation? We were given the choice of waiting on an outside table or being sat right away inside, and chose inside. Sadly the open table was on the bar perimeter and I could barely hear the hostess tell us the usual "our specials are...and your server will be with you shortly". So we decided to wait for the outside table, which was actually available right away. The outside seating consists of a patio area at the front and some two-tops along the side which gives you good people watching time. I know people like getting the pizzas here, but I'm the kind of guy who goes to burger joints for burgers and pizza parlors for pizza. They do it best and much cheaper. It doesn't mean I don't do it occasionally though. Ok, off my soapbox... My girlfriend ordered the Parmesan crusted chicken with broccoli and mashed potatoes and I got the Italian Market Salad with vinagrette dressing (I'm still doing the no-carb thing ok? Don't you think I wanted something else and wash it down with beer? Well I did, but I didn't). The food was good (my girlfriend brought half the chicken home) and we enjoyed being outside people watching and actually being able to hear each-other. I think the waiter may have forgotten us a couple of times, but no matter, we were in no hurry and he didn't forget us for long. All in all, the meal was about $30 for both of us and we walked away satisfied. Oh, and they validate your stub for the parking structure.

You know what I LOVE about this particular location? OUTDOOR SEATING The outdoor seating might be uncomfortable since it's at the front entrance of this BJ's, but it has a great view of Main St. View in particular? the EYE CANDY! Hahahaha! You see bikini beach babes walking up and down main street- absolutely breathtaking! Haha! Other than that, this BJ's is a great stop after a long bike ride down to Huntington Beach (start off and Angel's stadium and ride the trail down the Santa Ana river). Anyways, BJ's Restaurant and Brewery. I love this place. I've been visiting BJ's for quite some time. Pizookies are KILLER, always a MUST when you go to one. The pizzas are great too, a sweet pig, bbq chicken, great white or even blackened chicken never fail me. I think I enjoy the blackened chicken pizza the most. They update there menu from time to time, to mix things up. One item (burger) in particular that I have come to like is their Cuban Burger. Just like a Cuban-style sandwich, except it's in a burger form, tastes great! Great experience! We got the meal "on-the-house" because of our corporate hookup! ;)

Came here for a late night dessert w/some friends.. Stupid stupid me......... where else would young teens go to hang out on a Saturday night in HB ...... it's either here or IHOP.. Happy hour pizookies and pizza.. cute. What's not cute are the hoards of screaming teens who feel their asinine hi jinks such as spilling their drinks all over the floor and continually asking the waiters to take their pictures are hilarious and think all the patrons at the restaurant feel the same. The service was incredibly slow for a restaurant that was only giving two options of food to order..Took forever to get our drinks, food and check. Our waitress was rude. Does it make sense that one pazookie that comes w/two scoops of ice cream has two massive mounds while another pazookie that is supposed to have three scoops has three ping pong sized ice cream balls? When my friend asked our waitress snootily said "Well that's how they come we can't do anything about it." Yea I guess the boss will notice if an additional scoop or two from the tub is missing when he's counting the ice cream inventory at the end of the night. I give this place an extra strar because during the day it's not bad.. but it's still ridiculously crowded with people.

I don't go here for pizza, but the burgers are fantastic!!!!! From the sliders to the specialty burgers (like the California grill with avocado and green chiles and chipotle sauce, yumm), I started a new thing with where to go when I want a great burger downtown hb. Since they remodeled the restaurant is still a little slow on service, but the food is still good. I also like the mini bruschetta, and it's a great place for lunch salads!

It can be a zoo downtown H.B. near or on the weekend for a mature adult not lookin to party. BJ's serve very good food til midnight and have a nice atmosphere with great service. They have a big selection at all price ranges and plenty of seating. Some places down there close the kitchens accept for a few others like IHOP and 25 Degrees! Also, I enjoyed being able to hear and talk without having to shout. We need more entertainment and /or late dining for mature adults who do not just want loud bands, overdrinkin and partying. Well, after all this isss HB not LA! LOL

They only get a second star because my friend really liked his meal. I've heard nothing but rave reviews about this place and my friend loves it. I took him to dinner here last night and he went crazy over the Caesar Salad with Salmon. I got a Rib Eye and requested it to be cooked medium rare - it came out almost completely burnt. It reminded me of the crappy steaks I got at Sizzler as a kid for 9.95 (only I paid nearly $20 for this disappointment). The side of mashed potatoes was marginal at best, it had to be flakes because I've never seen potatoes that white, naturally. The skewered shrimp was way overcooked to the point of rubbery and they waited until the end of the meal to refill my water, even though I asked at least a half dozen times, throughout the hour I was there to get it filled. My friend also ordered rolls that came out after he finished his salad. We sat outside and the heater we were next to was turned off, we kept telling the staff that it was off and they insisted it was on (without actually looking up to check) and finally a busboy helped us turn it on so that we weren't freezing during the whole meal. The waiter kept apologizing for forgetting so much stuff and being inattentive, but I still had to pay the full bill. Quit apologizing for bad service and do something about it instead. My experience was abysmal and they weren't that busy, none of this should have occurred. I will never return to this establishment. They screwed up too much.

They just finished remodeling this place and now it has a full bar. It's a lot smaller than other bjs, but it's still pretty cozy inside. It's a good change from all the other bars on main st. They still have the happy hour specials and lunch specials that you are used to having from all the other bjs. It right on main st and you can have a really great view of all the hot eye candy on a nice day if u sit out in the patio area. I'm glad they added a full bar here now so u can just come here have a drink and chill when u don't feel like sitting in one of the loud bars here. Plus u can have a pizookie when the munchies kick in hehe Just to let u guys know only the taller tables are considered the bar area, so if you're there for happy hour, u have to sit at the bar or on one of the high tables. I didn't really take time to rate the food because you should already know the food is bomb! My faves are of course the pizookies then the great white pizza, buffalo chicken pizza, the pesto flat bread, and the roasted turkey cobb sandwich. I can go on and on about my faves here but i don't want to bore u with the details. Stop by on a nice day. U won't regret it

The service is always pleasant here, which kind of makes up for the madhouse that is the waiting list. It's a fun location on Main Street in Huntington, so if you want romantic and private, keep walking-you won't find it here but the people watching is fun. The food is really good , and predictable at least! Go for the flat pizzas-they are wonderful

I had the turkey cob sandwich. i was surprised with the bread and fresh avocado. i took the thick fries over the skinny-skinny. i like how some of the pieces were still crunchy, but not over done. $10 is steep for just a sandwich, but given the location of the eatery, it's excusable. For my beverage, i originally ordered BJ's blonde or whatever. It arrived stale & warm and i wasn't in the mood for that taste. I sent it back and got the hefeweizen instead. much better! i don't usually fruit my beer, but i'd pinch the lemon and float it with their brew. The pizza looked really good. If i get around to coming back, i'm definitely grabbing one!

We came from Az where we eat at BJs 3xs month.. We got seated pretty quick out on the patio.. It was an incredible table for people watching on a Sunday night! But it started to go down hill when we ordered 2 drinks n they took our IDs (because we were out of state) and verified them with the manager.. 10 mins later we got water n our IDs back with no drinks... Then I asked if they had a gluten free menu n the manager had to being me that too.. It was beyond innctedible how long it took just to sit down n order our food. After getting a salad that tastes like it had watered down ranch on it, I ask for a different one. Our waiter gave me an attitude n I then waited another 10 mins to get my salad.. Meanwhile my date ordered a dinner salad n bake potato.. He didn't get the salad till 5 mins till he was done with his baked potato. And by that time it was wilted n gross.. They place was nice n whatnot but service was horrible! Also if ur curious what's in ur food get the allergy menu! Almost everything has MSG in it!!

It's a good thing I'm into salty food. I love salt. As a child I was addicted to salt or anything salty. And I rarely drank water so imagine how my kidney would look like if you cut it open. Probably I could sell it to med student and fetch a good price. DYL is nothing. It's all about DYK now. Saltiness aside, the clam chowder was good. It was thick, creamy and flavorful. Even the pan pizza was good enough for me. And the best cosmo I've had so far. Strong and sweet just the way I like it. The location is good if you're into gawking at people walking by. It's so undignified but its oh so satisfying at the same time. lol.

BJ's recently expanded the bar by taking over the restaurant next door. This completely changed the look and feel of this bar making it one of the best places to grab a beer in all of HB. Their lineup of beers if fantastic and the pizza is awesome. Nothing beats the buffalo chicken pizza and some piranha ale.

This place has excellent food, but the service is constantly lacking. It doesn't matter what time of day you visit, the service will always be sub-par. They validate parking for the nearby garage, so if you visit you can rest assured your parking was free.

Went to BJ's last night to watch a Giants/ Dodgers game... and for dinner of course. Everything took FOREVER! 10 minutes to clean off a dirty table and seat us. 10 minutes for a server to come and greet us and to take out drink orders.. 10 minutes for our drinks to come (sodas) 30 minutes for our dinner salads to come out, 15 minutes later our pizza came out. 20 minutes to get a drink refill... finally another waitress noticed how annoyed we were and kept checking on us from that point forward. Took care of our drinks and to-go box. Granted... we did go there at 7:00 on a Thursday... but it shouldnt take 20 minutes to get a refil (especially since I was dying of thirst)... The food was decent... no complaints to the kitchen just the service from our waiter and hostess. At the end the waiter we had apologized and started making small talk with us.. I told him I was a Giants fan and he proceeded to see me "they suck" (even tho they were whipping the dodgers ass)- so one less star for that!

We ordered take out on a Saturday night. Got home an realized that the pizza litterally had no toppings....you really feel ripped off when you expect a certain quality only to find out that they don't take any pride in there take out menu, I guess because you aren''t there to complain. Annoying. Ordered food online and when I got there the phone was ringing off the hook, so I had to wait for quite sometime so that they could answer there phones. So much for ordering ahead.

Hostess has a real attitude problem. I worked Main St. for a couple of years and it's hard but that's no reason to act like this girl. Everyone else was awesome. The remodel is 100X better than the old restaurant. Food was pretty good.

I've always loved BJ'S I always thought there food was delicious and that they had good service. That is until today! We sat at a dirty table in the bar area which wasn't busy and it took 15 mins till someone begrudgingly clean edit after I complained. No water was brought out despite it being requested numerous times. We asked for the food to be split and it wasn't. Such a huge disappointment! I may never eat here again!

Even though I usually would not go out of my way to support a big chain, I have liked this place since before I could drive. Their beer is flavorful and their food is consistently good. They have one of my favorite deserts too, PIZZOOKIE! it is a fresh-baked cookie still hot in the pan topped with ice cream. I have been to a few of the locations around so cal, and they even have one in lahaina, maui

First off let me just say that I looove their food. I've never had a bad meal at any of their locations and just thinking about their pizza makes me want a slice right now. The big downside at this particular location was the service. It's right by the beach, so they are often busy with foot traffic but the service was still unacceptable even though I factored that in. My boyfriend and I were told there would be about a 15 minute wait so we had the hostess put one of our names down and we stayed close by. I'd say at least 40 minutes passed until I got fed up and asked the new hostess who just went on duty what was going on. Turns out the other hostess didn't write us down at all! They then seated us as quickly as possible. We were starving at that point and very thirsty on a hot day so I was also let down when they sat us and no one bothered to come by and give us water or check on us for 10 minutes. We were trapped in a weird corner so we got ignored by out ditsy male waiter who would only giggle and say "my bad" about everything he did wrong, which wasn't all that funny to me. We ordered an appetizer only to have it come out mere seconds before our entrees so that was rather useless. I usually tip a minimum of 15% but this was the first time I was compelled to tip less. If you want good pizza AND good service, go to BJ's on Beach Blvd right by the 405 freeway instead. Their staff has always been nice and attentive. I once waited a few hours outside with my party but it was well worth it for the good food and friendly waiter.

I usually enjoy eating at BJs but for this particular one, not so much. I ordered the New York strip and it was dry and bland. And for $19 I expect it to be much better. And they didnt give me my 2nd side which I waited for 20 mins. They did the samething to my friend, but he never asked for his 2nd side, I don't understand why let them do that to you. I won't be going to this one by choice unless my friend really wants to, but no more dried steak and poor service for me.

Been here a couple times with my boyfriend. First time was for happy hour, very good. About a week later, we ordered the same thing for carryout & were very disappointed. Back last weekend for a third try, also late at night. I had an iced tea..extra black! love their iced tea. We started with the pirhanna chili nachos. at first i wasn't so sure..i let my bf pick the appetizer without even looking as to what it was & chili on nachos sounded really heavy. but to my surprise the nachos were really good & super flavorful. the bf had the cajun pasta & we were both surprised by how good it was. the sauce was rich & creamy with just the right amount of spice. i got a small bbq chicken pizza..came to the table extra hot && super delicious!! scarfed down three pieces, gave one to the bf & had the other two for breakfast the next day. yummm :)

The big TV above the bar is awesome but you better sit directly in front of it if you want a drink in a reasonable time frame. Been here 3 times and every time I've had to walk to the bar as waiting 10 minutes plus is no bueno!

Well, I've never really been overly impressed with BJ's food. I think it's more about watching sports and engaging in a social festive atmoshpere and having a few drinks. Anyway, because we wanted to watch football, my girl and I stepped in for a burger and to watch some games. I ordered the Crispy Jalapeno Burger and my girl had the Cali Burger. I suppose the burger(s) were decent--nothing bad nor great. I like thin cut fries (shoestring) and their fries were really good, I was glad they had the thin cuts on the menu. My Diet Pepsi was a little bit flat and a bit sweet for diet but whatev, no biggie. The server really did his best to take good care of us with frequent stops at the table and a friendly demeanor. The only thing that really bugged is that other servers kept coming by our table offering us samples of other "things" they were creating in the kitchen. I guess it's all in their protocol to advertise and sell their products. Anyway, we pretty much went their to catch some games and a burger so overall it was as expected. It's just typical restaurant chain/franchise type food.

This location is located on the busy main street HB where all the beachy party people are at. The floorplan is actually smaller then most BJ's due to its tight location in downtown HB. If you go on a busy day, you will probably have a hard time getting seated within 15-20 minutes. I went on new years day and was able to get a seat within 5 minutes of entrance. Most times you will just have to try your luck because the line does run out into the street. I am really curious, so what exactly is considered a deep dish here? I got a regular pizza and it was thicker then pizza hut, dominos and round table. I am assuming you get bread with cheese and toppings if you order their deep dish pizza. This is one of the few places where you can order 2 different types of chicken on your pizza. They do charge you double the price of a topping, but that is understandable. I also ordered the chicken fetucinni and I was few minutes past the lunch hour, but the waiter still hooked me up with a lunch price. I thought that was really cool indeed. I always loved BJ's menu and all the original beer they have on tap. This place in the Surf City USA is definitely worth stopping by if you can't trust those local bars and grills.

This downtown Huntington pizza joint is probably the best of the Orange County versions of this chain. This place non-apologetically serves up Chicago deep dish pizza in all of its glory: thick bread-like crust, fresh toppings, and covered with lots of cheese. BJ's was better before they embarked upon a large scale corporate expansion, but the pizza and appetizers are still A-OK. They also sport a fine line of microbrews, and all are excellent. The burgers here are also very good. The service is up and down, influenced by crowds that rise and fall like the tides.

I came with a party of about 10 and apparently they dont like big crowds because they do get loud... I wish they would have told us this before they seated us and we would have gone somewhere else... They straight kicked us out for being too loud... Hello were a BIG group!! Anyways it wasnt that good! I ordered a snakebite and it was disgusting! apparently in HP they make snakebites with RASPBERRY CIDAR!!!! yuk!! it tasted like Bubble gum! I ordered Pasta for my meal and it was good. Not enough shrimp, but hey its alright. The PIZZA was delicious! I do love pan pizza!! Anyways don't go here if your in a big group! The manager will come and hush you all up and eventually kick you out! dont get me wrong, I do like BJ's but this location was a little snobby for my crowd!

BJ's is a favorite of ours. The food is always delicious and we enjoy trying new things off the menu...haven't found anything we don't like! The restaurant itself is small, so be prepared for a wait, and good luck trying to find a seat at the bar on a busy summer night. Definitely worth the wait, though, as the food is far superior to other options on Main St.

Where do I begin?! Here are the facts: Checked in with the hostess to get a spot for the patio and waited in the bar. The tables were dirty-glasses, plates, etc. while we sat for 10 min-nobody came by or even looked at us to say they would be right over, or offer to clean the table. I then asked a busser if we had to order at the bar and he said somebody would be over. 5 min later we were paged for our table on the patio-except it wasn't on the patio so we went back to the table to wait. 5 more minutes go by and nobody comes or acknowledges us. I stand up with my credit card to get drinks and a server immediately comes over to get our drink order-so after we placed the order, you guested it! we waited another 5 minutes for drinks-so we are at about 25 min so far for our 1st drink to arrive. We order food immediately and once we get it there is no silverware, napkins, etc. Sooo we have to get it ourselves. Nobody follows up with us until we flag another server down to get another round of drinks, and then another to get our bill. About 10 more things went wrong too but I just don't want to waste anymore of my time on this place. And, I work at a restaurant so I am extremely empathetic to busyness but our waiter really just didn't take any pride in his work. I have also dined at other BJ's and have never had an experience be so poor.

I have family visiting from out of town and they wanted to eat some pizza, the food was decent, I think I have had better pizza someplace else or maybe I just don't like the pizza being so thick anymore, we did like the avocado rolls and the soups were really good. I do have to say our service was great, I believe our waiter was Tony and he was really good and attentive. I would like to try this one for happy hour only because its close to the beach and it would be nice to walk down the beach after stuffing your face.

Great pizza. Service is about average. I love to sit outside and watch the people. Lots of freaks in HB.

To be honest, I have eaten at this location about a million times and have never once thought about yelping it .. I do not know why .. but I used to have nothing but great experiences here ... for food and service .. HOWEVER: they obviously recently did a remodel of some kind and I must say I HATE IT .. They added an indefinite bar area .. I am sure because it brings in a lot of money and now they have the TV area for sports games and all like surrounding bars etc .. however because they added the bar the dinging seating is very limited and very compact ... I recently ate here .. this past week in fact .. and was seated in the back where it felt like I was next to all my surrounding tables and was immersed in their conversations and families .. The "booth" I was sitting in was small and cramped .. only big enough to barely fit myself on one side and one person on the other side .. Very uncomfortable and not what you want to fell when you want to relax at dinner .. If I want to sit that close to my neighbor I will sit at the bar .. Also because the tables are so close the waiters and waitresses are constantly bumping your elbow or you and it is annoying .. Your best bet now is to sit outside which I would have but it was freezing outside

They finally bumped out the wall so there's more seating, and added a full bar. Yes! Otherwise its just like other BJs with great pizza and brews. Happy hour specials are pretty good. A little pricey but its a sit down pizza place so I wouldn't have figured its as cheap as Pizza Hut.

i love food from bj's! the white chocolate macadamia pizooki with vanilla ice cream is sinfully good and will leave you licking every bit off your plate. the cajun chicken pasta is really good as well (even though it had a pool of unsightly butter/oil on the bottom of the plate, yuck), i ordered it by chance and ended up really liking it

This is one of the louder BJ's locations. Tonight they were packed when we got seated after a 25 minute wait at 8:00 pm. There were several groups of people in their late teens/early 20s. It gets pretty loud here, plus there are TVs with sports on, so when it's a good game, bring your ear plugs. The food and service was good. I had the halibut fish tacos which were very tasty breaded in panko and lightly fried. The flour tortillas were lightly grilled giving them a good texture, and they use various cabbage giving the tacos a good texture. On the side, the tacos came with red, blue, and yellow corn tortilla chips. While very colorful, the chips are just okay. I did eat some of my friend's seasoned potato wedges, and they were really good! Once I tried one, I didn't want to stop eating them. Lucky for me, she isn't a fried-food fan, so I ate most of them off her plate. I also ordered a glass of the lemonade, which turned out to be pink lemonade. It was nice and tart, and the pink sugar around the edge of the glass was a nice touch. I wasn't offered a refill on the lemonade, so I don't know if they have complimentary refills or not. For dessert, my group shared two Pizzaokies, one chocolate chip and one half peanut butter and half macadamia nut. Since I can't eat ice cream (lactose intolerant), I just ate some of the warm cookies. I really liked the peanut butter and how it was loaded with peanuts. The chocolate chip was super chocolaty. Our group of 6 polished them both off. My biggest complaint with this location of BJ's is the restroom situation. It's a fairly large restaurant, and yet there is only a single men's restroom and a single women's restroom. When I got there I wanted to wash my hands, and I had to wait in line almost 10 minutes. Why on earth didn't they make bigger restrooms with multiple stalls? I did enjoy my dinner, but this location is definitely the worst BJ's I've been to.

Love the remodel and the updated menu...only downside is that there are too many good things to choose from!

    (4)
  • Stephanie N.

Crowd is pretty young and the place is packed. Servers are young, relaxed and say stuff like "rock it" or "sweet choice" :) Its fun though and the food is pretty good if not a bit over done. Clam chowder was salty and the clams didn't taste that good Wedge salad was good BJ's Favorite Deep Dish was excellent. My fav portion of it were the crispy edges of the pizza (and normally i'm not a crust kinda gal) Overall good dinner in touristy location.

Let me start this review by stating a little know fact about myself. I LOVE pizza, yes I do, if I could and it were socially acceptable, and I wouldn't gain a million pounds, I would and could eat pizza every day! That said, I have always been a fan of BJ's. There is just something about the thick crust of their pizzas that keeps me wanting more. While this BJ's location is not my personal fave (I prefer the brea location) it is very close to my house and they deliver! Which is the reason they still get four stars.

    (4)
  • Tiffany L.

I love the pizza there, and especially the cookie desert plate thingy... I forgot what you call it v______v"! The wait is usually 15-45 minutes, depending on the day/hour.

The first time i went to this BJ's i was with a friend and it was all good until i got the Pizookie. The Pizookie, if you don't know is the awesomely delicious, warm, 10" cookie they give you with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. There are a few types of pizookie's i'm going to talk about the original. But like i said, my meal was all good until i got to the dessert. About half way into the yummy thang, i was about to take a bite....and all of a sudden i saw a hair. This wasn't any old hair...it was curly and had a distinct look to it. I swear it was a pubic hair. I was so sick to my stomach i almost threw up. But see, i'm not going to be the guest who complains and wants a new one. To tell you the truth there would be no way i could eat another one and i wouldn't want to waste it. So instead i left a little note on a napkin with my fork stabbed into the piece of cookie with the cooked pubic hair in it. It said: "Give my compliments to the cook, thanks for the pubes in my cookie" Then i left a small tip and left. I know it wasn't the servers fault so i'm not going to penalize her tip for the idiot who doesn't wash his hands in the kitchen. So from that experience i will never go there again for the pizookie. I might go for the beer or pizza....but if i find a pube in either of those i'm out for good.

Really good food especially the sweet pig pizza. The root beer that they serve is not that good though.

Probably one of my least favorite pizza restaurants in Orange County. The pizza is 90% thick dough with mediocre quality cheese and sauce on top. I am going to try to never return to a BJs again.

I went to BJ's for lunch with a few of my college friends. They're known for their pizzas and beers. I really like their pizzas, especially the BBQ chicken pizza. If you've got room, try a pizookie.

BJ's on Main Street in Huntington Beach was excellent! From the moment we arrived, the hostess was friendly and helpful. Our server (Charlie) was so sweet. Our family wanted to adopt her! She handled our large party perfectly. The food was cooked to perfection! I highly recommend BJ's in Huntington Beach.

  • Anjelica A.

This place is okay. If you're hanging out at the beach, enjoying a pizza or pizookie here is fun, but being on Main Street, it tends to get busy, and you have to wait outside, and people, since they are already in a hustle and bustle mood, tend to be a little rude and or obnoxious. Take caution, weekends are crazy. It is however a nice place to enjoy on a week night, maybe before catching a movie or so.

No offense I love their pizza and beer and typically would give at least 3 stars for BJ overall. But the problem with this particular BJ is their service. We came for a late lunch around 3 or so. so the restaurant was not that crowded. we asked to be seated out in the patio and was instructed to wait outside. 15 minutes passed and 2 other groups arrived after us were seated, I went inside to ask the host if our table was ready. He actually forgot about us and asked back:uh...how long have you been waiting? (ha) and sent us back out with an apology and "someone will assist you right away" another 10 minutes passed. i went inside again and this time asked to see the manager. another apology granted and we were actually seated. another long wait for the waitress to come around and took our orders. then the food came out without utensils. apology again. then they switched waitresses on us. the waitress was nice when talking to us but not at all attentive. we asked to have the heater lamp turned on since it was getting chilly and she actually said they are not working. Apparently, after we left and strolled pass by later in the afternoon, the heaters were all turned on.

My family loves BJ's Pizza. We have always had very friendly servers and quick service every time that we have been here. My kids love the pizookies. My only complaint is they only have one restroom for the entire restaurant.

A review from my daughter: BJ's is the BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if I could write a 10 star review I would do it in a heart beat. There Ribs, Rootbeer, Mozzarella sticks, Pizza, and the best part there pizookies with the vanilla icecream are sooooooooooooooooo good!!!!

What a crappy experience. Especially from BJ's! I usually go to the one closer to me, but I was down in HB so I decided to come here with some friends. First, we came here during the middle of the week. (It was a Wednesday evening, so it wasn't busy). They ran out of lemonade after my first drink, which is fine, but it took 20 minutes waiting for our drinks. We waited an HOUR for our food to get out and when we would ask our waiter where it was at, he would get annoyed and tell us that it would be out in a couple of minutes. (We waited another half hour). After we ask, we didn't see him again until our food came out. Plano refills, no nothing. It took us forever for the guy to pick up our check. Needless to say, this was a severely annoying dinner. The food was great, but the service was god awful. If the place was packed and really busy, I would understand completely. But this place was dead and the service was slow and rude.

  • Brooke Ivy S.

The food: excellent -thank you The service: a hot mess The bartender: specifically the one working the evening of Sunday 9-6-15. A complete and total rude douchebag. He even wears his snappy little haircut sloppy, much like the "drinks" he pours. Grow up idiot you are certainly NOT gods gift.... Which brings me to my final point, The management: (shaking my head) how is it that this place is still open??? Lawsuit city!!!!! Get it together corporate this place should be a goldmine for both you and your "servers?"............

    (2)
  • Leland S.

I don't usually do corporate but when I do it's when I receive gift cards, free pizookie coupons, and happy hour. Here's how my experience went: Ambiance Parking | Plenty of parking whether it's street or garage. We came here on a Tuesday evening for Surf City nights at around 6pm. We didn't have any problems at the garage 2 streets over 2 dollars for 2 hours? I'm down with that. Seating | Plenty of seating outside and inside however it does get pretty packed. The tall seats are on a first come first serve basis though. Feels | In the heart of Huntington Beach Main Street. Coming here during Surf City nights is an additional plus. Feel free to watch a game or even people watch. It's a nice place for almost any type of night. Food: Spinach & Artichoke Dip (A-OK) * Borderline good and okay. Good because it was served fresh and has a nice kick to it. However I wished they balanced the ratio so there's enough dip for the chips. Great White Pizza (Recommend) * Deep dish and delicious, you can't go wrong with alfredo sauce! Ask for some tabasco too. Mediterranean Pizza (A-OK) * Though it is mediteraneany. I personal don't like the olives... =/ Avocado Egg Rolls (A-OK) * I used to enjoy these however I feel like it got more unhealthier. The crunch is there along with the rich avocado however ours was pretty oily and that just made us full before the pizzas came. Customer Service: They were pretty quick with or order nothing too special but good respectable service. Overall: 4 stars. I like the options on the happy hour menu. Price is about right, the wait was reasonable and the food was delicious. Not a bad way to enjoy Huntington Beach especially during happy hour. TL;DR Tips: *RSVP for nicer seats! *Happy Hour | M-F:3-7pm & S-Th:10-Close * Kitchen closes an hour before close

Worst location I have been to. The service was not only bad but so slow it was insane. The food was so below average and I used to love BJ's Pizza they usually make great drinks and have great food but this trip was not even somewhat good. I doubt I would ever go back. Staff was rude and food sucked

HORRIBLE SERVICE, I even made a review about this months ago, its funny that its deleted somehow? Please make sure your guys service ESPECIALLY DURING THE NIGHT IS BETTER. If your drunk and don't care for waiting go here but other than that if your from LONG BEACH and even look it they wont pay attention to you as customers; that's literally how i felt; BELITTLED; and will disregard what you want as a customer and i can prove that based on how they had my review deleted, BJS is great, this LOCATION NOT SO GREAT CAUSE OF STUCK UP STAFF.

TLDR: Their pizzas and pizookies are what you should try!! More like a 3.7/5 but rounding up! Their pizzas are undeniably very yummy! They have many choices and it's a great way for multiple people to order and eat and bond. What separates BJs from somewhere like California Pizza Kitchen is that they have more options on other dishes to choose from. Kind of like a less variety version of Cheesecake Factory and with more pizza. My favorite of their pizzas is barbecue chicken pizza! They don't overwhelming put BBQ sauce and they have tomatoes on top too. I also like their vegetarian one as well. You can choose to make pizzas without chicken or meat; they aren't sticklers about sticking to exactly the way the menu is written out. For their other dishes, I've tried the Caesar salad. What I love about the Caesar salad here is that they actually give you a decent amount. You can also add protein on it, which I added salmon! The salmon was really, really well flavored and cooked! I would get this again if I wanted a lighter meal. But if you're coming with a large group, it's best to go with pizzas and some appetizers! And for dessert, always go with the 3 option pizookies!!! You get to try more flavors and it allows you to share as well. One pizookie is too much for me, personally, because it can get really sweet with the ice cream and cookie itself. Their service is pretty good. Their pricing is also reasonable as well. This place is also pretty good for bigger groups.

Updated review: Thank you Michelle, I am not as upset that they put the wrong sauce on the pizza because I understand that mistakes do happen, especially when it is busy, I just wish the server and manager didn't lie to us when we asked about it. We still love Bj's and will continue going :), just probably not this location

While visiting Huntington Beach we decided to grab some dinner. We checked out the menu on line and it had something for everyone. It's difficult chosen a restaurant being on a diet and having a family member with a severe bit allergy. This was a great choice and I would recommend it to everyone. Our waiter Blake was awesome and the manager checked on everything we ordered to make sure it was safe for my daughter. I had the BLT salad as an appetizer which was excellent. I had the top sirloin for dinner which was good but not great. My sister had the Mediterranean Tacos off the light menu and that was really good. One daughter had the fresh fettuccine and the other shrimp scampi. The portions were good the atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. Family of four with appetizers, dinner and drinks for under $75.00. If we're ever in the Huntington Beach area again we will go back. To bad we have to return to the cold.

My friends and I were down in HB for today. They came in from Vegas so we hit the beach and stopped by this restaurant on our way out. It has a great atmosphere and the service was on point. They do card everyone for drinks so be sure not to forget wallets like my pal did...whatever, we just ordered an extra one for her and it was all good lol. My friends had sangria and the ultimate long island while I sipped a strawberry mojito. For starts, we had the stuffed mushrooms and the avacado eggrolls. O.m.g. they were so freaking bomb. For those wanting to watch calories holy toledo don't get a soup bowl. Freaking 1420 cal for a bowl of brocc n cheese of course because its served in a bread bowl. Lol. My friends ordered the salmon (around 800 calories I think) and the rack of ribs (oh Gawd who knows the calories lol...he can afford it though). I had the mahi (less than 500 calories). Everyone devoured their meals. Tyson's ribs were fall off the bone. My mahi was perfection with a great pineapple fried rice...and Jenni's salmon and couscous was really flavorful. The mushrooms were about 350 calories and the avacado eggrolls...well...who knows. They were worth it haha. We were definitely satisfied walking out of there...no room for dessert in our bellies. ;)

I am actually in the restaurant right now. The server was absolutely disinterested in waiting on our table. He didn't give us napkins or silverware. When we asked another server for napkins, he brought us bar napkins. The brown paper napkins that they place by the drinks at the bar...After he brought us our food, still didn't give us napkins or silverware. We had to ask him if he would bring us silverware. The food was over cooked and tasteless, I ordered a burger, asked for medium rare....I received an over well done hamburger. The sandwich my guest received wasn't even toasted, and it was a toasted turkey sandwich....how easy is it to place two slices of bread bread on the flat top. I guess too difficult for their cook. When the server brought us our beers, they were the wrong ones...how hard is it to pour heffenwisen in a glass? .... Follow directions, get glass, pour beer...serve correct beer. The server continued to pass by without asking if we want or need anything. He did stop by to ask if I could eat the hard overcooked burger....How kind No stars for this place...poor service, poor food and as for the beer, I may have appreciated it if I had gotten the correct beer I ordered. No wonder there was pigeons flying around in the restaurant looking for food.... Pigeon by the tables. ... gets 4 stars

Surprised there's so many poor reviews of this BJ's, cuz my experience here was great! And I had come here having barely eaten all day, so my growing hunger really had the potential to turn me into a cranky bitch. Lucky for the staff, I was completely satisfied with their customer service. Hostess seated us immediately in a comfy booth. Within 5 minutes, our first waiter took our orders and returned promptly with drinks. Even when he took a break and switched off to another waitress, she continued the quick, efficient service. Waitress also gets bonus points for bringing us Ranch dressing and red pepper flakes upon our request and refilling my water without me asking. It's the simple things that please me =) As expected, the food was Awesome! Had the Spinach stuffed Mushrooms for an appetizer, which was delicious with lemon juice. We got my favorite, the BJ's Favorite Pizza, which is basically a meat-veggie combo of everything. The best part was the perfect crispiness of the pizza crust and dipping it in the ranch dressing. Was so content and full, sadly I didn't have room for their infamous Pizookie. Their Macadamia nut is the Best! If I'm ever in the HB area again, I'd definitely come back to this BJ's.

My wife and I used to be regulars. We were always impressed by the staff, quality of the food and the cleanliness of the restaurant. The last three times we have walked in and left because the tables, the menus, and the floor were filthy. We kept hoping there would be a change. Unfortunately the restaurant is getting worse. Please go back to being the restaurant you used to be so we can go back to being regulars.

I got sick from eating salmon at this particular location. I normally don't have a problem but on this particular evening I ended up sick for about 3 days, laid out in bed shivering not being able to eat or drink anything. Not a very pleasant feeling! Maybe it was because it was so late in the evening and we were waiting for my daughter to finish having dinner with her friends but either way we will definitely not be going back.

I heart the Pzookie! But the service as TERRIBLE! Came one night because I was craving something super sweet, so we got a seat outside, perfect for gawking at all the weirdo's, hipsters, 909er's, DB's, and tourists during the summer months. Ordered the white chocolate mac nut pzookie with vanilla bean ice cream. After our waitress brought our drinks and took our order, she never showed her face again for half hour. During which time, we definitely got an eye full of the "best" of downtown HB. I had to ask a busboy where was our order half an hour later, had to wait another 10min after that, in which our waitress finally showed up and slapped the thing on our table with a frown and left again, never to be seen. I was so tempted to walk out without paying as I've never encountered such bad service. Pzookie tasted great as per usual but I would definitely NOT come back for the crappy service!

The food is usually good. Service is OK. Every time I go here the floor, tables and bathrooms are disgusting. They should really keep all of those things clean. I've been here 10+ times and it's always dirty.

First time at this location, and its super small inside, so expect to be on the wait list. Me and my friend came here about 10:30 at night, just to get some dessert! We got sat down right away, and our waitress, ashley L was super nice, although it was difficult to flag her down sometimes, but i understand. Just have to have some patients. So we just had some time to catch up, and she came back to check up on us plenty of times! She seemed kind of rushed, but also looked like she had the most tables. $10 tip was worth it. I do suggest Ashley as your waitress!

You can expect to find the standard tasty BJ's food here. I enjoy the unlimited soup and salad lunch combo for $7. My favorites are the Chicken Tortilla Soup and Caesar Salad. They bring your bowl with most of the ingredients already in it, and then pour in the "broth" component of the soup. Squeeze some fresh lime and you're set. I don't really like the personal size pizzas because you don't get as much surface area of cheese and toppings. You're better off sharing a larger pizza. I DO NOT like the service here. I have never had good service because they just aren't attentive. During lunch they take 10-15 minutes to get to your table. Then it takes them another 15 minutes to bring my soup and salad when I think that is something that should be pretty easy. I would come here more often if they were on top of their service.

Happy hour drinks are $4 (strawberry or blueberry mojito and wine). Cheap place for a quick drink and chat with some friends before hitting the other bars in downtown. The happy hour appetizers are okay tasting - as in mediocre food that was frozen then prepared. Don't expect much. It's not a place to mingle. It's more of a "sit down with your own group" to eat and drink. The staff is attentive. The place is relatively clean. Parking in downtime is free after midnight.

Took a friend out for her birthday and we had horrible service. We waited about 5 mins or so for someone to seat us and the worker wasn't even a host. We came before the lunch crowd and it still took forever. We ordered an appetizer and the guy forgot to put it in and didn't even offer to give it to us for free. The salad had horrible dressing, and my friend's salmon was very plain. In total, we were there for an hour. Most of that hour was spent waiting for our food. If the service for our check was as quick as our food, we would have been happy, but oh well, never making that mistake again. Go to another BJs, this place cannot serve well before or after a crowd. Especially, when a crowd rolls in.

  • Nguyen A.

Happy hours drink taste great. The BJ mojito worth the money . I ordered a second drink but it was past 7pm so they wouldn't honor the happy hours price; which is fair but I was hoping they would, bc they prolly will make money selling the drink rather not selling one at all . Pizza - bJ special taste normal nothing special . I always stick to the basic and ordered their special pizza.

Went here for Sunday brunch during the NFL playoffs. It was pretty empty, but they had TV's at all angles. The breakfast pizza was really good (!!) and the drinks were exactly what we expected. If your getting a few drinks the pizza can definitely be split by two people. it was flatbread style and had a nice flaky crust. Two thumbs up. Service was friendly and attentive so no complaints there. Nice bar area lots of TV's. I'm a fan of this place! Especially for Saturday or Sunday brunch.

Very good beer and sandwiches. My dad had clam chowder and claimed it was the best one he has ever had. I had the avocado burger and it was amazing. Over spring break 2015 visited twice with my daughter (12). We enjoyed both meals, dinner first visit. I had small BJ special and it was awesome and she had the chicken alfredo and loved it. We sat on patio and had a great time even though it was lightly raining. Next visit a few days later for lunch after the morning spent on the beach...I had the avocado burger and she had the chicken fingers and again...great meal for both of us. This time we sat in the bar area at table...nice experience.

I like the atmosphere here since its nearby the beach and always pretty packed. Their food isnt so great. Their baked beignet is so disappointed. It was soggy and they were so stingy with the ice cream. One small scoop with several strawberries on the side and some whip cream ontop for $7....?? No thank you. Dont come here for dessert. A lot of choices for drinks and food doe! Great place for hangouts but ill pass the dessert.

We eat at this BJs 2 or 3 times a month, the foods great but so many bad times with the service. Well much to our delight we got a server that we have not had before. Ashley L. Very nice ,very attentive and just stayed on top of all our needs. This nite is HB Streetfair nite where the restaurants get Sooo busy but Ashley L did a great job of handling things,, hope we get her next time and even better if other servers learn her secrets, thanks

Usually have a great time at BJs locations, but this location was a little disappointing. We were a party of 7 looking for a small meal before a big BBQ feast later at night so two of us shared the deep dish lasagna, I got a root beer for myself, and the rest of the table shared a medium deep dish pizza. After we ordered, our server left all the menus at the table all cluttered until about 15 minutes later when I asked for a second or third refill on my root beer. For my root beer refills, server seemed a little annoyed (head down, didn't say a word when he took the mug to refill nor when he brought it back) which made me feel a little awkward thinking I had done something wrong for asking for refills. Also, I am aware the deep dish lasagna and deep dish pizza both take longer to bake because of their...deepness, but the wait was ridiculous. It was at least 30 or 40 minutes later before we got our two food items. The restaurant wasn't crowded either. If it is supposed to take that long, a reminder from the server when we ordered these items would have been fine, but we didn't get one. No "sorry for the wait" afterwards either. Food finally came and I have always loved the deep dish lasagna at BJs so that came out perfect as always. Deep dish pizza also got good feedback and the group wished they had ordered a larger one. Deep dish at BJs isn't really deep dish though, probably half the height of a regular deep dish pizza with an overly large crust but our buddies didn't complain so oh well. The five who shared the deep dish pizza felt a little awkward at the end when they paid enough cash to cover the bill and a 20%+ tip, but weren't given the change back. For the experience we got, we would definitely not have tipped that much. I rarely mention bad service unless it's really bad and this was one those really bad times. Hopefully the server just had a bad day, but probably won't visit this location again.

Good food, friendly staff, overall a nice place for lunch. Why not 5 stars? Waaaay too much food items on the menu. When it takes 10 minutes to "study" the numerous pages of dishes, it's hard to figure out what's their best dishes (signature missing). I also found their offers confusing, half of them apply only to certain days and so shouldn't be given to the customer when they don't apply. Lastly, I would never pay more than $10 for a pasta dish unless it contains expensive ingredients which none of theirs had. Other than that I'd be happy to go back for an easy peasy lunch.

This is one of our mainstays when we come over to wander around Huntington Beach. Went in last night to order a couple of their Tavern Cut pizzas. Everything went well, until my Extreme Pepperoni version showed up looking something less than 'extreme.' Although not his fault, our server Alan swung into action and turned a disappointment into a very pleasant experience! Anyone can make a mistake, but you really show your "chops" by how you handle a difficult situation, and Alan did himself proud! He's a keeper! Oh, and for the record, the Tavern Cut pizzas are THE BEST!

Had some appetizers and the very berry margarita. Absolutely delicious. Had the california club flatbread pizza and it was excellent. Worth a try for sure!

Was here for dinner last night with my daughter. Our waitress (Haylie) totally sucked!! I thought maybe she was just having a bad day, but seeing the other reviews it seems to be the norm for service at this restaurant. We had to ask for our water to be refilled. I ordered a pizookie for dessert and also asked for a box for my daughter's leftovers. She didn't return with the box for a good 20 minutes and when she did, she handed the check over with it! WTH, I don't even have my dessert yet, and she's already cashing me out!! When dessert arrived I asked for a to go box for it and she looked at me like I was nuts and said "You want a box for the pizookie?" Uh, Yeah! You friggin took forever getting us the first box, dumba**!! I didn't say it, but I was shooting her the look! I had shown a coupon prior to ordering dinner, it was buy one entree, get one free. Of course, the check did not reflect the discount! So the waitress had to get the manager to verify the coupon was legit. The manager inspected it with a fine tooth comb before honoring the coupon. I don't know how this crappy restaurant stays in business.

First off my favorite server is Joe, he delivers every time I'm there. It's hard to get his section sometimes but when he's open I go to him. My favorite thing to order is the Hawaiian pizza and my mom loves the Ahi Salad. And of course finish off with a Pazookie :) They have a good happy hour that is affordable. And it gets busy!

Ate here twice while in Huntington Beach. Left both times satisfied. On the first visit, we sat outside and had lunch. The pizza was pretty good - it didn't amaze me, but it wasn't bad. The beer was better - I got one of their porters (forget the actual name), and would definitely recommend it. On the second visit, we sat inside to watch some sports and grab some appetizers / desserts. The pizookies were very good, although I'll never know how to actually spell it. Service, on both occasions, was phenomenal. Our servers were very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and came by frequently to check on us. Couldn't really ask for anything else there. Overall I'd recommend BJ's. The food is good, if not amazing, the service is great, and the location here on main street can't be beat.

We came here again because we love the food. Big mistake. It took forever to get drinks, not to even mention appetizers (only 40 mins). The whole lunch took 2 hours; which is still kind of ok... The bill took another 20 mins to come....we owed $89... We gave our server Kayla $45 cash and asked her to put the rest on my card... After a while she came to inform me that the card did not go through which i was aware of. I asked her to punch in the number manually which she did and it was ok.... The card went through; i signed and we left. After about an hour i realized the server charged me the whole amount even though we gave her $45 in cash and asked her to only charge the test on the card. I immediately called the restaurant and spoke to the manager Steve who told me it might have been his fault since Kayla did not inform him she previously got $45 in cash. He aslo promised he would call me right after he will resolve my issue. He never called back and i still got charged $89 on my card. Shame on you BJ's.... Keep my $45... You need it more than i do apparently..... Never ever coming back...the worst customer service EVER

I go to BJ's all the time. You come here because you know what you're going to get (service, type of food, quality of food, beer choices). Sure enough, it was just that. It is possible that extra ice cream scoops for pazookie desserts are free..so that made me happy. No food review here.

The bartender, Brady , was great. Up beat and was attentive. Seating at the bar for lunch was easy and comfortable. Food came out quickly. Drinks are a bit expensive here though. I wasn't expecting my rum and diet to cost $7.75. I am used to east coast prices where an expensive mixed drink is $5. Other than that, the place is nice and has a good ambiance. Considering planing a company putting here.

One of our favorite places to go on Main St. when it's busy. With their free Premier Rewards card, you can use the app on your phone to make an advance seating request, and even order your food if you want. This is great when it's busy! The Premier Rewards also lets you see your bill and pay using the app on your phone. Also, the points add up pretty quickly, and you can use them to take money off of your bill or get a free dessert. Aside from the convenience of the benefits of Premiere Rewards, the menu is pretty large, so you can find something for everybody. The food is pretty good. I recently had a mediocre appetizer. I sent it back, and they quickly replaced it. Other than that, I think we've enjoyed everything we've ordered... especially the pizza and salads. The bar is large with great drinks and a big screen to watch games.

Happy hour on Tuesday, 5/12/2015. Cory is tending bar. Although I am drinking rather than eating, the food passing by looks great. The beers are delicious and at the right temperature. Place is clean. Background music at proper level. Everyone looks happy. All personnel busy. I'll be back.

If i could give this place no stars I would. The service was so terrible and the food was cold. We had two different servers, both were awful. 20 mins to get water and soda, 30 minutes to get an appetizer, and by the time our food showed up it was cold. Tried explaining this to the manger, she was beyond rude and no help. It's a shame when a manager is rude to the customers that fund her place of employment. I'm guess having a personal conversation is more important. Never will we eat here again.

This is a must visit every time I'm in town! Great bartenders and great people! Right on the main drag with plenty of people watching. The deep dish pizza is to die for. I advise not sharing it with anyone because you're going to want to take it home for left overs! Come hungry!!!

To say the least last night was a disappointment. After eating elsewhere on Main Street, my girlfriend and I decided to head to BJs for a pizookie. I went on my phone and ordered dine ahead hoping to make it a painless dessert. I reserved a time of 10pm and was told it would be 15 mins. We were sat at 10:30 and did not see our waitress for another 15 minutes. By then our pizookie had arrived and she stopped and apologized. We asked for our bill and that was promptly delivered. Although picking it up was another 10 minute wait. We got up and found our waitress to give her the bill. The most disappointing part of last night was me accidentally leaving my phone on the table. It took but two block to realize I had forgotten it. We called back and were on hold for 10 mins before I decided to walk back and retrieve my phone. The hostess said they were getting a manager to unlock the office. After 10 mins he comes up empty handed and grabs my info seeming very insincere. I assured him I knew I had left it at the table and that I was going to locate my iPhone with my girlfriends phone. I asked what would happen when I found my iPhone located there. He said I would not find it because no one had it. I step outside and begin locating my phone and before I could even locate my phone I received a call from the waitress stating she had found my phone. I walk right back into BJs and she has my phone I'm hand. I ask her where she found it as the manager walks up and she is stumbling over her words to give an answer or a name. I was livid. I then asked the manager what the policy was on lost items for the restaurant as I could only assume it would be to turn them in or place them in a certain location for patrons. Having worked at restaurants, I know this type of thing happens a lot. I also know things like a phone just do not go "missing" one moment and there the next. Sad to know that there is such a lack of honesty and integrity at an establishment such as this one. We will certainly never eat at this particular BJs again. -mike

Went here with my boy friend after a craving of pizza (I'm from NJ and used to pretty good ny style pizza). The deep dish Hawaiian (I think called fat pig or something?) was awesome, it is a great place holder for East coast pizza cravings- and that is a HUGE compliment. We also ordered the wings exxxxtra spicy, they were great, just the right amount of spice (don't be intimidated by the name). Also, our waiter was awesome and brought us opened wet towelettes when he saw us almost done with the wings (A++ service, I've never had that done before). But the best part was that pazookie. Omg, literally amazing. The best mix of cookie dough and brownie in my mouth ever. I am absolutely returning purely because of that (even though everything else was awesome). The pazookie took dessert to the next level. I am 100% going back for my birthday and going to eat all the pazookies.

My family and I came here while we came up to watch the US OPEN, we notice that they were open at 8AM for breakfast. Because who doesn't like BJ's and Bloody Marys in the morning amiright? The breakfast food was really good. The service sucked. I had to go up to the bar twice and ask if we could get some waters. When they first opened there was only like us and a couple of other people there to eat. Didn't really get busy until after we got our food. WHICH took about 40 mins. The staff there was looking for another waitress that apparently disappeared, and customers were coming in (sitting outside), was starting to get busy. The missing waitress I think her name was Maria? came back into the restaurant and said she was looking for the fu*king managers card, or something to that effect. Flipping out in the bar area where MY family 7 and 8 year old were at eating their breakfast. Lots of F bombs going on. Took everything I had to not go punch her in the throat =) WITH THAT SAID, I don't know who the Hostess was as far as her name goes, but she was great. She came and got our empty plates came and gave my family refills while our waitress was MIA. Super sweet girl. I ordered 2 bloody marys while I was there, because that is how I get my vegetable in take. They were WAY different. The first one was the bomb the second one tasted like a V8 with a bunch of olives in it. GROSS. I also asked for a Diet Coke for my daughter who has Type 1 diabetes and they gave her a Dr. pepper or Mr. pib. Thanks Assh0les, I specifically asked the waitress anything Diet please because my daughter has Type 1. It wasn't like we had a huge order of drinks to get mixed up and it wasn't even busy yet. The girl who was the awesome bartender came up to another employee and was telling her and showing her how a brand new bottle broke over the ice and had to melt the ice because of the glass that was broken into it. Yes thank you for announcing that as I am sitting here drinking my V8 Bloody mary. Best service ever! The last 2 BJ's that I have been to have been in the OC. NO THANK YOU. I will stick to the San Diego BJ's and anywhere else that is not related to the OC. I gave 2 stars because of the Hostess. T~

My family and I stopped by for a late evening snack on a weekday. Restaurant was full, but wait was minimal. Ordered tavern cut Italian Market pizza -- very tasty. Crust was thin and crispy and meat and toppings were delicious. Also shared a triple chocolate Pizookie made with Ghirardelli ice cream -- very excellent! Service was friendly and attentive, but servers seemed harried and exhausted. Plates were dirty, but were replaced with clean ones. Please be forewarned that the noise level of this location is very loud -- in the heart of touristy downtown Huntington Beach.

There are no BJ's near where I live so I wasn't aware it was a chain when we decided to dine there. While i would not have went had I known, the experience was good and the food was on par with what you would expect. We were seated outside and had great service. The menu is huge and includes a large variety of options. The food was pretty average but acceptable. If you have a picky group this might be a good option since there are lots of choices, it also seems like it would be a good place for a group or kids. While my experience was not negative I am giving it a 3/5 star because it is only average food. If you typically like casual American chains you will probably enjoy this as well.

I normally have a pretty average experience at BJs, but tonight is probably the worst experience I've had at ANY restaurant service-wise. Not only did it take 20 minutes to get my ICED TEA, but it took a half hour to have my order taken, and I saw the server maybe twice the whole time. Any time I was asked if I needed anything, it was another server who relayed the message to my actual server. The icing on the cake was the 20 minute wait for the check, and the extra 10 it took for our ACTUAL waitress to ring it up. Needless to say I'm pretty disappointed. If a waitress can't handle a few tables at 11pm, I question her profession.

Giving one star is way too generous. I went to BJ's today with two other people and the service was SO BAD. We were treated as a joke just because we looked young. They probably thought we were going to dine and dash. Keep in mind we arrived at 5 pm. We ordered an appetizer, a pizza, and the trio pizookie. The appetizer took 20 minutes to come out. After we finished that, the pizza was still not out yet. We basically stared at each other across the table for 40 minutes. I caught myself asking "where's the pizza?!" at least 5 times. Our waitress passed our table so many times. Not once did she check up on us, yet she checked other tables to see how they were doing. We also asked for parmesan cheese but by the time our waitress brought it out, we finished the pizza. Last was the pizookie. We specifically ordered it after finishing the appetizer because we knew it would take awhile to make. We figured that if we ordered it early, then we would get it right after we finished the pizza. We thought wrong. It took an additional 20 minutes after constantly pestering three other waiters. The service was so bad that it left me at a loss for words. Other people who came after us left before we even got our dessert. We didn't even leave the restaurant until around 7:50. I have never felt so disrespected. This sort of treatment is unacceptable. NO ONE should ever be belittled just because of their age and I will NOT be coming back to this location. BTW, I'm not writing a review to try to get compensation. I'm writing one to let others know that it's NOT OKAY to look down on others and treat them unfairly. Not only did I leave in a bad mood, but I lost 2 hours and 50 minutes that I'll never get back.

I've never had a terrible experience at ANY BJ's restaurant until I came here. A couple friends and I were seated after waiting 20 or so minutes on a Friday night. Our server brought our drink after being seated for a couple minutes. We ordered three appetizers: potato skins, traditional wings, and spinach and artichoke dip. Being super hungry, we were excitedly waiting for our appetizers! We waited between 30-40 MINUTES just the appetizers alone. We watched in agony as tables around us received their appetizers AND meals. Our server barely acknowledged us for the first 20 minutes. Then after, she came to our table and asked us if we got our appetizers when it was very obvious that we didn't since the appetizer plates was stacked exactly how she left it. Isn't it her responsibility to know? But no! She told us she didn't know what happened, and then left to care for other customers. If you don't know what happened, figure it out and put in another order. A simple explanation could be nice. It's reasonable if maybe another server took our food by mistake; my table won't be mad but just let us know instead of "I don't know what happened". But thanks for reassuring me that you don't know what you are doing. The manager eventually came to our table and told us he didn't know what happened either. Sigh.... but thank goodness he brought it out after 5 more minutes. He also made it on the house to make up for the long wait. We were about 75 percent done with the appetizers when they brought out pizookies. We ordered them in advance and told them to bring it out after our meal. We had to stop the appetizers, no way I was letting the ice cream melt! After I finished the pizookie, I finished my appetizers. This is probably the weirdest dinner sequence I've ever experienced. The whole timing of the night was very off. We received our appetizers late, but our pizookies early. I think I'll stick to the Bella Terra location as my go-to BJ's from now on.

Normally I am a huge BJs fan. They have a huge menu selection & the food is usually pretty decent. Although, tonight was absurd. My friends got there probably about 20 mins ahead of us. Me & my boyfriend wanted to go in and out & planned on being in kind of a hurry. I texted my friends to order one of the appetizers so by the time we got there and parked we could eat & be home quickly. We got there, the waitress wasn't even back with their drinks yet... This time they were probably there about 30 mins?? I mean usually 30 mins into the restaurant especially at 11 on a Monday night sitting in the bar section with it not being busy in the slightest you would think you would be getting your food any second. We asked for my friends raspberry ice tea that took 20 mins to refill. We asked for separate checks and that took 35 mins. Funny because we asked different waiters because we only saw our waitress 2 times the entire meal. So much for a quick in and out meal. With the ice tea, we asked probably 4 times and when we finally asked another waiter he got us the tea in less than 30 seconds. Funny how it takes him so quick and it took our waitress 3 reminders and 20 mins to not do shit. At least the food was decent.. I'll be sticking with the BJs on beach blvd in the future.

My fiancé and I work too much and we finally had a day off to ourselves. We wanted to walk the pier, but instead my taste buds wanted some pizookie. We parked and walked in. No one was there to seat us, we had to find a server to ask them where could we sit. She rudely told us there was open seats at the bar. We didn't want to sit at the bar, so we asked her one more time if it was ok to sit outside. So finally we sit down and she walks over to us and gives us the menu. We start looking for some drinks. She comes back and asks us what we wanted, we let her know what we wanted and she rudely corrects my fiancé. And thought we could laugh about it, but no. She was very rude and she didn't even crack a smile. So she brings us our drinks and as soon as we get them my fiancé notices a hair on the lime of my drink (gross!). The waiter, that had brought us our appetizers, was very nice and kind to take the lemon and replace it. We didn't really want to be there any longer because she was very rude to us the moment we had stepped in. The waiters that brought our food out were very nice. Overall I would still go to bj's, just not this one. She ruined our whole experience there with her rudeness. Maybe she wasn't having a good day or she was tired, which we could understand. We tried to make her smile and nothing. I love bj's but I don't think I would be returning to this one because of her, I didn't get her name but she had orange hair with pale skin and freckles. But the waiters were really nice and kind to help us out and smile while helping us out.

Came in to watch the Ducks game and had a good time. Steven A was our bartender and he was amazing! Super friendly, attentive and quick. The only drawback was the hostess. She was rude and it took me at least 10 minutes to get her attention from the personal conversation she was having. Had I had to wait for a table I probably would have left. Snag a spot at the bar and have a great time!

Pizookies were great!!! BUT, they got our order wrong, and when they brought the cookies n cream Pizookie like we ordered, they only put a small portion of cookies n cream ice cream. AND it wasn't even cookies n cream ice cream, it was like a cookies n cream whip cream! If you can process the information above, well then you can see why I was disappointed with the cookies and cream ice cream.

the service here was absolutely terrible. there was abundant staff but nobody came to help us. I had to wait ten minutes after asking for water, for the waitress to bring it to my table. we ordered the avocado eggrolls (an appetizer, not even an entree) and were left sitting with no service for over 50 minutes. we asked a waiter to check on the time and when we came out of the kitchen he totally avoided us. We then ask the manager what is going on and where our food is (after watching several groups get seated, eat, pay, and leave) he told us he would drop the bill and go check, after an hour of waiting. the food came out looking sloppy and rushed, not only that but burnt????????? we also got a pazookie and had to wait over a half an hour for that as well. this was totally disappointing and completely unprofessional. I have never had such bad service in my life.

Boyfriend & I came here in a Wednesday evening around 830. We found seats at the bar right away. Our bartender, Ryan was quite attentive and served us pretty quickly. We ordered a small BJ's special pizza. When it came out, which didn't take long, our waiter wanted to serve us a slice but accidentally dropped it. He then told us, "I'll make you guys another one!" A few mins later, a guy, who seemed to be a supervisor came by and said "we're making you a mini on the house." Wow! I don't think I've received service like this...ever! Love this spot, will come back!

Ordered a salad to go and did not dine here. BBQ Chicken salad. It was a good portion, asked for dressings (bbq and thousand island bbq) on the side, so pretty glad without the dressings, but with it quite delectable. We'll probably eat in next time so expect a follow up review if they deserve more (or less - but hopefully not) stars.

Had a great experience here tonight! Best yet. The flatbread pizza was very good. The server Ashely was exceptional. She made the visit memorable and really good. Great experience!

My sister and I decided at the last minute to go downtown on a Friday night! Stupid us you say? Well Bjs had an open table in the bar area during happy hour; sweet! My friend is a regular here since she loves fried avocado menu (don't know its name..). I and my friend went here Tuesday for happy hours (3-7pm) so we didn't need to wait. We ordered all happy hour menu like fried avocado, deep dish pizza, and spinach dip with nachos. They were not super great but just okay as bar food since we were drinking wine/beer/martini. Our waiter was professional and food was just great with drinks, especially fried avocado which is very unique menu here. Will come back when I visit Huntington Beach again.

We always sit at the bar and the bartenders are always great!!!! the only reason I'm not rating 5 stars is they've taken off one of the most popular items the chicken lettuce wraps for somebody that really can't eat carbs this is a really great option!!! Miss it!!!

I only come here for the BBQ Chicken Pizza and Pizookies...they are damn good. This one on Main is small and it has no bar and there's only 2 tiny TVs in the back room. They have a front patio but around you is full of punks, drunks, tattoo-piercings-flyer-passer-outers, and of course, the revving engines of hogs and muscle cars. The one on Beach Blvd is like 5 times bigger and a way better place to watch a game.

Ok first off, I do enjoy BJ's. My favorite on is the one by the ontario mills cause the service has always been friendly and good. But I happen to go to this small as BJ's off Main st. in Huntintgton... one of the worst experience in my life. Ok first off it was great that we got sat in like 10mins but this place is tiny, you're bumping elbows with everyone. and there was one bath room stall for each sexes. And there was no bar. No happy hour, pre made cocktails... thank god they had beer. Our server was fine, she just kept forgetting to bring me ketchup. And to top the night... the parking arrangement for that whol complex sucks... I mean it blows! You can only validate at restaraunts on that initial building... I parked at the parking lot near the beachfront grill, and don't get me started on that scene. So I asked if she could validate my parking and she said thats not the yello ticket we can't validate it. No I'm sorry, no "yeah that sucks, they really should change that" nothing to acknowledge how upset I am about the situation, and she quickly ignored me to do something else... I work at a restaraunt, and I know how some parking lots can gauge people and I totally take the sides of my guests. I ended up paying 2 dollars for parking cause it was all the cash I had, and its only cash only, I was suppose to pay 4 dollars. Ok, (1. they should make a sign about validations in the structure. (2. Some sincerity would be nice from my waitress. (3. I got sick from eating their sliders there... And when I rate I usually give restaraunts the benefit of the doubt, cause I know what its like... but this place and the whole complex... Just something about going to the beach where everyone are ass holes... I dunno... I'm more pissed now thinking about it.... so not dissing BJ's, they have a great bar menu and happy hour... but steer clear of this place.
